A magnetic toner includes toner particles. The toner particles each include a toner core and a shell layer covering a surface of the toner core. The toner cores contain a polyester resin and a magnetic powder. The magnetic powder includes specific magnetic particles. The shell layers contain a specific vinyl resin.

An electrostatic latent image developing carrier includes carrier particles each including a carrier core and first and second coat layers covering a surface of the carrier core. The first and second coat layers give a layered structure in which the first coat layer and the second coat layer are layered in order from the surface of the carrier core. The first coat layer contains a fluororesin. The second coat layer contains a silicone resin and a fluorine silane in an amount of at least 1% by mass relative to a mass of the silicone resin. An area Sof a region of a surface region of the first coat layer that is covered with the second coat layer and an area Sof a region thereof that is not covered with the second coat layer satisfy a relationship represented by '0.05&#x2264;S/(S+S)&#x2264;0.50'.

Electrostatic latent image developing carrier and two-component developer

An electrostatic latent image developing toner includes a plurality of toner particles each including a toner mother particle and inorganic particles attached to a surface of the toner mother particle. The toner mother particle includes a toner core () and a shell layer () covering a surface of the toner core (). The shell layer () includes film-shaped first domains () and particle-shaped second domains (). The first domains () are substantially formed from a non-cross-linked resin. The second domains () are substantially formed from a cross-linked resin. The cross-linked resin has a glass transition point higher by 40&#xb0; C. or more than that of the non-cross-linked resin. The first domains () have a surface adsorption force of at least 20.0 nN and no greater than 40.0 nN. The second domains () have a surface adsorption force of at least 4.0 nN and less than 20.0 nN.

Electrostatic latent image developing toner

An electrostatic latent image developing toner includes a plurality of toner particles each including a core and a shell layer. The shell layer includes a first domain that is a non-crosslinked resin film and second domains that are crosslinked resin particles. The crosslinked resin has a higher glass transition point than the non-crosslinked resin. In a cross-sectional image of a toner particle, a proportion of a total length of a surface region of the core covered by the first domain is at least 45% and no greater than 80% relative to a circumferential length of the core. In a cross-sectional image of a toner particle, a proportion of second domains adhering to a surface of the first domain is at least 30% by number and no greater than 70% by number relative to all the second domains included in the toner particle.

An electrostatic latent image developing toner includes a plurality of toner particles each including a core containing a binder resin and a shell layer covering a surface of the core. The shell layer contains a copolymer of at least two vinyl compounds including a compound represented by the following formula (1). The toner contains a ring unopened oxazoline group in an amount of at least 0.10 &#x3bc;mol/g and no greater than 100 &#x3bc;mol/g.
