Aspects of this disclosure relate to an acoustic wave filter with an acoustic wave resonator arranged to concentrate a transverse spurious mode at a frequency. Such an acoustic wave resonator can have a narrow aperture to concentrate the transverse spurious mode. The transverse spurious mode can increase steepness of a skirt of the acoustic wave filter. Related methods, acoustic wave devices, multiplexers, radio frequency front ends, radio frequency modules, and wireless communication devices are disclosed.

Aspects of this disclosure relate to a multiplexer that includes an acoustic wave filter including acoustic wave resonators on at least two die with a transmission line electrically connecting the acoustic wave resonators on the two die. The acoustic wave filter can include a plurality of acoustic wave resonators on a first die electrically connected to at least one acoustic wave resonator on a second die via the transmission line. The acoustic wave resonator on the second die can provide a relatively high impedance at a respective passband of one or more other filters of the multiplexer. This can reduce effects of the transmission line of the acoustic wave filter on a respective passband of one or more other filters of the multiplexer.

A filter device including a first filter having a first passband, and a second filter having a second passband, the first and second filters each being connected between a common contact and a respective signal contact, and the filter device configured to reduce spurious emissions generated in one filter due to propagation of Lamb waves in the other filter. In one example the first filter includes a SAW filter formed on a piezoelectric substrate, a SAW resonator formed on the piezoelectric substrate and connected in series between the common contact and the SAW filter, and a dielectric film formed over the piezoelectric substrate covering the SAW filter and the SAW resonator. The dielectric film has a first thickness over the SAW filter and a second, lesser, thickness over the SAW resonator, a difference between the first and second thicknesses being selected to suppress spurious emissions in the second passband generated by propagation of a Lamb wave in the SAW filter.

In one example, the filter module includes a filter having a certain passband and a matching resonator for impedance matching of the filter, the passband of the filter being included in a frequency band ranging between a resonant frequency and an antiresonant frequency of the matching resonator, and a center frequency of the passband of the filter being lower than a center frequency of the band ranging between the resonant frequency and the antiresonant frequency of the matching resonator.
