Means to Solve the Problem A vehicle periphery alert device is installed in a vehicle that operates when the vehicle starts to reverse from a parked state. The vehicle periphery alert device includes a detecting unit configured to detect a position and a movement direction of another vehicle behind the vehicle; an alert operation activating unit configured to perform a predetermined alert operation in the vehicle; and a control unit configured to set a virtual alert area behind the vehicle according to an angle formed by a movement direction of the vehicle and the movement direction of the another vehicle, and to activate the alert operation activating unit when a condition, including that the position of the another vehicle is in the alert area that has been set, is satisfied.

Vehicle periphery alert device

A warning device for a vehicle to start a warning at an optimum timing depending on a position at which an object passes near the vehicle. The warning device has a warning part for warning a driver of a presence of the object that will pass near the vehicle. The warning device has a timing changing part for changing a timing of starting the warning via the warning part according to a size of an allowance space from the vehicle to an expected passing position at which the object is expected to pass near the vehicle.

Alarm device

Provided is a rear cross traffic alert device that allows a driver to understand that notification of the presence of an object (another vehicle, etc.) in an area directly behind the vehicle cannot be notified. The rear cross traffic alert device provided on a vehicle includes: an object detection section configured to detect the presence of an object laterally behind the vehicle; a movement determination section configured to determine whether or not the object has entered a predetermined area in a detection area in which the object detection section can detect the presence of the object; and a notification control section configured to stop notification when the movement determination section has determined that the object has entered the predetermined area.

Rear cross traffic alert device

Provided is a front structure of a vehicle wherein damage on auxiliary equipment by a millimeter-wave radar is limited at the time of collision, and cooling efficiency for auxiliary equipment using traveling wind is not reduced. A front structure of a vehicle comprises a front right side radar for detecting an obstacle on the front right side of a vehicle by transmitting/receiving a radio wave, a front left side radar for detecting an obstacle on the front left side of a vehicle by transmitting/receiving a radio wave, a bumper reinforcement, right and left crush boxes, and a condenser cooled by traveling wind, wherein the front right side radar is disposed on the outboard side of the right end of the condenser, and the front left side radar is disposed on the outboard side of the left end of the condenser.

A reflected wave that a transmitted wave is reflected by targets including a stationary target and a moving target is received as receiving signals of at least two reception antennas. A phase difference between beat signals at respective peak frequencies, generated from a transmitting signal and the receiving signals, is calculated. Directions of the targets are calculated in such a manner that the calculated phase difference of the targets is stored in a storage area in advance, it is predicted whether peak frequencies of the plurality of targets overlap each other, a predicted phase difference of the stationary target at the time when the peak frequencies overlap each other is calculated on the basis of the stored phase difference, and a predicted phase difference of the moving target is calculated on the basis of the calculated phase difference and the predicted phase difference of the stationary target.

Radar system and direction detecting method

A signal processing apparatus for a radar transceiver, which receives a reflected signal generated by a target object in response to a frequency modulated transmission signal, and generates a beat signal having a frequency difference between the transmission signal and a reception signal, includes: an azimuth angle detection unit that detects an azimuth angle of the target object on the basis of a peak signal in a frequency spectrum of the beat signal; a peak signal extraction unit that prioritizes extraction of a peak signal corresponding to a predetermined azimuth angle range and a predetermined relative distance range of the target object; and a target object detection unit that detects the target object from the extracted peak signal.

Signal processing apparatus, radar apparatus, and signal processing method

A radar apparatus mounted in a vehicle includes an inward bent surface and a radar device. The inward bent surface is formed in a lower portion of a bumper of the vehicle, and curves inward with a higher degree of curvature in a horizontal plane than a bumper surface of an upper portion of the inward bent surface. The radar device is placed behind the inward bent surface so that a beam axis of the radar device penetrates the inward bent surface.

In order to prevent delays in output of detection results, even when a plurality of frequency modulation methods with different frequency change rates are used, an FM-CW radar device employing frequency modulation with two different frequency change rates, has distance/velocity detection unit for detecting the relative distance or relative velocity of a target object based on beat signals of transmission signals with the same frequency change rate and for detecting the relative distance or relative velocity using beat signals when the frequency change rates are different, and distance/velocity confirmation unit for adding evaluation values for relative distances or relative velocities detected in the detection processing, and for confirming the relative distance or relative velocity based on the evaluation value which has reached a criterion value. As a result, more data can be obtained in one detection cycle, and the same advantageous results as when executing a plurality of detection cycles can be obtained. Consequently, delay of output of detection results from the radar device to a vehicle control device can be prevented.

Signal processing device, radar device, vehicle control device, and signal processing method

A radar device has a plurality of receiving antennas which receive, as a reception wave, a radar wave sent in a predetermined reference direction and reflected by a target; a phase difference detection unit which detects a first phase difference of the reception wave received by a first receiving antenna pair that is spaced by a first gap, and a second phase difference of the reception wave received by a second receiving antenna pair that is spaced by a second gap smaller than the first gap; and an angle detection unit which performs a first process of determining, as a detection angle, an angle of the target relative to the reference direction being a mutually coincident angle from among a plurality of first angles corresponding to the first phase difference and a plurality of second angles corresponding to the second phase difference. The radar device allows expanding an angle detection range without reducing the resolution of the angle corresponding to the second phase difference.

A target position is estimated in such a manner to maintain target position continuity, with high accuracy, even when the X coordinate displacement of the target is large. Radar device and target detection method

A collision prediction ECU of a collision prediction apparatus estimates a state of presence of a detected front obstacle. At this time, the collision prediction ECU estimates the state of presence on the basis of road shape data supplied from a navigation ECU of a navigation apparatus. Further, the collision prediction ECU checks and corrects the calculated road gradient value. At this time, the collision prediction ECU corrects the gradient value on the basis of road gradient data supplied from the navigation ECU. Further, the collision prediction ECU changes a collision avoidance time on the basis of travel environment data supplied from the navigation ECU. Moreover, the collision prediction ECU obtains an ETC gate pass-through signal from the navigation ECU and determines whether the vehicle is passing through the gate. The collision prediction apparatus performs collation prediction on the basis of the corrected values.

A crash-safe vehicle control system for controlling operating devices of an own vehicle such as a vehicle decelerating device and an occupant protecting device, on the basis of information on at least one preceding object existing in front of the own vehicle. The non-first-preceding-object information relates to at least one non-first preceding object each existing in front of the first preceding vehicle. The width-related-information-dependent control is a control of the operating devices on the basis of at least one of width-related information relating to a width and a widthwise position of each specific object selected from the above-indicated at least one preceding object.
