A drying device that dries a medium having an image formed thereon while conveying the medium, includes a conveyance belt having through holes formed in an entire surface thereof and supporting and conveying the medium in a predetermined conveyance direction, a heating section that applies warm air to the medium to dry the image and presses the medium onto the conveyance belt by the warm air, and a suction section that attracts the medium onto the conveyance belt by sucking air through the through holes. At least one of a force with which the heating section presses the sheet against the conveyance belt and a force with which the suction section attracts the medium to the conveyance belt is greater on a downstream side than on an upstream side in the conveyance direction.

Drying device with possibility to prevent curling of paper and image forming system including the same

A drying apparatus which dries a medium on which an image is formed with ink while conveying the medium includes a conveyance part, a heating part, a measurement part and a controller. The conveyance part conveys the medium in a predetermined conveyance direction. The heating part supplies energy to the image on the sheet conveyed in the conveyance part and dries the image. The measurement part measures a value accompanied with moisture contained in the medium. The controller estimates an amount of moisture contained in the medium based on the value measured by the measurement part, and controls at least one of the conveyance part and the heating part so as to change an amount of the energy supplied to the image based on the estimated amount of moisture.

Drying apparatus and image forming system

The drying apparatus includes a conveying belt and a heating unit. The heating unit includes a blower fan, a rectifying member, a heater, and a reflecting plate. The rectifying member is arranged on the downstream side of the blower fan in the blowing direction of the blower fan and includes one or more first through holes. The heater is arranged on the downstream side of the rectifying member in the blowing direction to radiate infrared rays in all directions. The reflecting plate is arranged between the rectifying member and the heater, includes one or more second through holes, and reflects the infrared rays radiated from the heater to the side of the conveying belt. The one or more first through holes are formed in a portion other than a portion where the infrared rays passing through the one or more second through holes of the reflecting plate are radiated.

Provided is an inkjet recording apparatus that reduces clogging of nozzles, while at the same time avoid a decrease in productivity of the recording medium, and reduces situations in which the recording medium becomes stained due to the staining of opening portions and splashing due to ink ejected during flushing. A conveyor belt of the inkjet recording apparatus has a plurality of opening portion groups. The control unit determines the pattern of the plurality of opening portion groups used for flushing in one cycle of the conveyor belt according to the size of the recording medium. The control unit causes the recording medium to be supplied from the recording medium supply unit between the plurality of opening groups arranged in the conveying direction in the above pattern on the conveying belt and at positions separated from the opening portion groups by a specific distance or more.

Inkjet recording apparatus for recording images by ejecting ink on recording media

Provided is an inkjet recording apparatus that reduces situations in which the recording medium becomes stained during flushing. A conveyor belt of the inkjet recording apparatus has a plurality of opening portion groups in a conveying direction of the recording medium in which opening portions for allowing ink ejected from each of the nozzles of the recording head to pass during the flushing are arranged in a belt width direction perpendicular to the conveying direction of the recording medium. A control unit determines a pattern of a plurality of opening portion groups used in flushing in one cycle of the conveyor belt according to the size of the recording medium, and causes the recording medium to be supplied from a recording medium supply unit between the opening portion groups arranged in the conveying direction in the pattern on the conveyor belt.

A liquid supply unit includes a first chamber, a second chamber, an opening/closing member, a biasing member, a pressing member and a flexible film member. The first chamber communicates with a liquid storage container, and the second chamber communicates with a liquid injection head. The opening/closing member changes a posture between a closing posture for closing a communication opening and an opening posture for opening it. The biasing member biases the opening/closing member in a direction toward the closing posture. The pressing member presses the opening/closing member in a direction toward the opening posture. The flexible film member is displaced based on a negative pressure generated in the second chamber. When a pressure receiving portion of the pressing member receives the displacement force from the flexible film member, the pressing member rotates about a pivot point and presses the opening/closing member against a biasing force of the biasing member.

Liquid supply unit and liquid injection device

A liquid supply unit includes a first chamber, a second chamber, a wall portion, an opening/closing member, a flexible film member and a transmitting member. The wall portion includes a communication opening allowing communication between the first chamber and the second chamber. The opening/closing member changes a posture between a closing posture for closing the communication opening from the second chamber side and an opening posture. The flexible film member is displaced based on a pressure change of the second chamber. The transmitting member transmits a displacement force to the opening/closing member to be the opening posture when the second chamber is set to a negative pressure exceeding a predetermined threshold value, and transmits the displacement force to the opening/closing member to be the closing posture according to a displacement of the flexible film member when the second chamber is pressurized.

An image forming apparatus includes a main body, a post-printing processing device, and a paper exit part. The main body forms an image on paper. The post-printing processing device is located above the main body and performs post-printing processing on paper. The paper exit part is located on a side surface of the post-printing processing device. Paper is ejected to the paper exit part. The post-printing processing device includes a paper inlet port and a conveyance device. The paper inlet port is located in a rear part of a lower surface of the post-printing processing device. The conveyance device conveys paper conveyed via the paper inlet port into the post-printing processing device in a forward direction thereof to a paper loading tray and conveys the paper therefrom leftward to eject the paper to the paper exit part located on the left side of the post-printing processing device.

Image forming apparatus

An openable cover mechanism includes a shaft section disposed in a casing, a hinge section that swings around the shaft section, a cover that is supported by the hinge section and is openable and closable relative to the casing, and a stopper section supported by the casing. The stopper section includes a contact section that makes contact with the hinge section and an urging section that urges the contact section. The hinge section includes a peripheral surface in an arc shape that makes contact with the contact section, and a raised section that is raised from the first peripheral surface. When the cover moves from a closed position to an open position, the contact section slides along the peripheral surface relative to the peripheral surface and engages with the raised section to fix the cover in the open position.

Openable cover mechanism and image forming apparatus

A wire holding structure includes a wire holding member and a support member. The wire holding member is formed from an elastic sheet member, includes a holding piece that can be bent in a direction perpendicular to a surface of the sheet member and is formed by forming a curved cut or a bent cut, and is configured such that a wire can be held in a gap that is formed when the holding piece is bent. The support member constitutes a part of a plate-like frame that constitutes a housing of an image forming apparatus. The support member includes a stepped portion and supports the wire holding member on an upper stage surface of the stepped portion in a state where the cut of the holding piece is oriented toward an edge of the upper stage surface, and a tip of the holding piece projects over the edge.

When the first auxiliary tray is located at an extension position in a state where the second auxiliary tray is housed downwards, an abutment between an upstream side end edge of the side surface cover and an inferior surface of the second auxiliary tray supports the first auxiliary tray at a first angle. When the second auxiliary tray is extracted from the first auxiliary tray at the extension position, an abutment between the upstream side end edge of the side surface cover and the inferior surface of the first auxiliary tray supports the first auxiliary tray at a second angle. The second angle is smaller than the first angle.

Manual paper feeder that ensures stable paper feeding operation and image forming apparatus including the same

An image forming apparatus includes a discharge unit, a discharge roller, a pressing member, and a reinforcing frame. The discharge unit includes a guide member that forms a discharge path that guides a sheet member to a sheet discharge port. The discharge roller discharges the sheet member to outside from the sheet discharge port. The pressing member projects from the guide member toward the discharge path, and contacts and presses the sheet member that is passing through the discharge path. The reinforcing frame, formed from a metal plate material, is made conductive with a reference potential portion of the apparatus main body and reinforces the discharge unit by being, together with the discharge unit, fixed to the apparatus main body in a state of covering a part of the guide member to which the pressing member is attached.

An image forming apparatus includes: a drum unit having a photosensitive drum: a developing device having a developing roller that supplies toner to the image bearing member and a developer container that rotatably supports the developing roller; and a main apparatus body to which the drum unit and the developing device are detachably attached. The drum unit and the developing device are integrally attachable to and integrally detachable from the main apparatus body. The developer container includes a pair of ribs on an upper surface thereof at positions corresponding to opposite axial ends of the developing roller.
