Provided are a driven object side presser to press the first holder from a side where the driven object exists, a force transmitter to convert a tensile force to a pressing force with which the driven object side presser presses the first holder and to transmit the pressing force to the driven object side presser, a fixed member side presser to press the first holder from a side where the fixed member exists, a support fixed to the fixed member, a link to be connected to the force transmitter rotatably, the support, and the fixed member side presser and to move the fixed member side presser in a direction approaching the first holder when the force transmitter is moved in a direction away from the first holder, and a locking force generator to generate the tensile force, and to lock the first holder so as not to be moved.

A robot includes: a chest; a pair of right and left upper limbs; and a pair of right and left shoulders connecting the right and left upper arms rotatably to the chest with two rotational degrees of freedom, respectively. The shoulder includes: a shoulder joint connecting the upper arm rotatably; a chest-side main link attaching unit provided; an upper arm main link attaching unit provided in the upper arm; an upper arm drive main actuator including an upper arm drive main link having a variable length and a power source for generating force changing the length of the upper arm drive main link; a chest-side auxiliary link attaching unit provided in the chest; an upper-arm-drive-main-link-side auxiliary link attaching unit provided in the upper arm drive main link; and an upper arm drive auxiliary actuator including an upper arm drive auxiliary link having a variable length and a power source for generating force changing the length of the upper arm drive auxiliary link.

Robot

A mirror support mechanism includes three first supporting members and three second supporting members. Each first supporting member includes a mirror supporting portion that is in contact with and support a corresponding one of three supported surfaces provided on the supported portion with rotational symmetry of 120 degrees around an optical axis, and two first beam portions connected to both sides of the mirror supporting portion. Each second supporting member includes a supporting portion to which ends of two first beam portions adjacent to each other are connected, the ends being not connected to the mirror supporting portion, and two second beam portions connected to both sides of the supporting portion, an end of the second beam portion not connected to the supporting portion being supported by a structure member provided on the rear side of the reflecting mirror.

Mirror support mechanism and optical device

A rotation connecting mechanism includes: a joint that connects a second member rotatably to a first member with three rotational degrees of freedom; a first link and a third link in each of which one end is attached rotatably to second member with at least two rotational degrees of freedom while the other end is attached rotatably to first member with at least two rotational degrees of freedom, each of first link and third link having a variable length and five rotational degrees of freedom; a second link in which one end is attached rotatably to first link with at least two rotational degrees of freedom while the other end is attached rotatably to first member with at least two rotational degrees of freedom, second link having a variable length and five rotational degrees of freedom; and motors that generate force changing lengths of the three links.

A robot includes elbows connecting forearms rotatably to upper arms with two rotational degrees of freedom. The elbow includes: an elbow joint connecting the forearm and the upper arm with two rotational degrees of freedom; an elbow drive main link; an elbow drive auxiliary link; a forearm-side main link attaching unit attached with one end of the elbow drive main link with two rotational degrees of freedom, and provided in the forearm; an elbow-drive-main-link-side auxiliary link attaching unit attached with one end of the elbow drive auxiliary link with two rotational degrees of freedom, and provided on the elbow drive main link; and two linear actuators for moving two upper-arm-side link attaching units each attached with the other end of either the elbow drive main link or the elbow drive auxiliary link with two rotational degrees of freedom, and provided so as to be movable along the upper arm.

Primary mirror fixture for space telescope

A three-rotational-degree-of-freedom connection mechanism required for a robot that can make motion similar to a human has a simple structure, and there is no restriction on motion within a movable range. The three-rotational-degree-of-freedom connection mechanism includes a joint connecting a second member rotatably to a first member with three rotational degrees of freedom including rotation around a torsion axis, three actuators each including variable length links having a variable length, and power sources for generating force changing the lengths of variable length links and three first-member-side link attaching units provided in first member and the second-member-side link attaching units provided on the second member such that variable length links having a twisted relationship with respect to a torsion axis exist in each state within a movable range of joint.

Three-rotational-degree-of-freedom connection mechanism, robot, robot arm, and robot hand

A structure having limited supportable portions has been difficult to isolate from vibration in the direction in which a load is applied. A base isolation apparatus includes a Z-axis base isolation unit, an X-axis base isolation unit, and a Y-axis base isolation unit. The base isolation unit includes a vibration-source connector, an isolated-object connector, a lock device disposed between the isolated-object connector and the vibration-source connector for switching between a state of fixing the isolated-object connector and a state of making it movable, a distance recovery device for generating a force to cause an amount of change in distance to approach zero, depending on the amount of change, and a vibration damper for generating a force in an orientation of hindering the change, depending on the rate of change in distance.

Base isolation apparatus, lifting apparatus, and base isolation unit

A honeycomb sandwich panel having an absolute value of thermal expansion coefficient smaller than an absolute value of thermal expansion coefficient obtained by using carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) is provided. The honeycomb sandwich panel includes: a first skin being a plate material made of a low expansion metal being a metal having an absolute value of thermal expansion coefficient smaller than an absolute value of thermal expansion coefficient of CFRP; a second skin being a plate material made of the low expansion metal and arranged to face the first skin; and a core made of CFRP or the low expansion metal, being bonded to the first skin and the second skin and including a plurality of tubular cells each having a hexagonal cross section, the tubular cells being formed adjacently to each other.

Honeycomb sandwich panel, optical device, and artificial satellite

An optical device can deal with a relative difference in thermal expansion coefficient between a reflecting mirror and a mirror supporting member, and can also support the reflecting mirror with a simpler structure than the conventional one. The optical device includes: a reflecting mirror including a reflecting surface to reflect light, and a supported portion disposed on a rear surface and having three supported surfaces arranged with rotational symmetry of 120 degrees around an optical axis, the rear surface being a surface of the reflecting mirror existing on the contrary side to the reflecting surface; a structural member provided on a rear side of reflecting mirror; and three supporting members, each of the three supporting members including a mirror supporting portion connected to and supporting each of the three supported surfaces, and having two ends connected to the structural member.

A mirror support includes a first rod in which one end is connected to an arm at a position closer to a side of a first pad fixed to the mirror with respect to a second pad fixed to the mirror while the other end stretched and inclined onto the side of first pad from the position connected is connected to a support structure; a first-rod elastic body that is an elastic body constituting the first rod; a second rod in which one end is connected to arm at a position closer to a side of second pad with respect to first pad while the other end stretched and inclined onto the side of second pad from the position connected is connected to the support structure; and a second-rod elastic body that is an elastic body constituting the second rod.
