A liquid discharge head includes a print element substrate provided with discharge ports, through which liquid is discharged; and a support member having a liquid chamber, which is provided with a communicating opening that communicates with the discharge ports, wherein the liquid chamber has a first surface provided with the communicating opening, and a second surface facing the first surface, the second surface is provided with a buffer chamber, which is a hollow space for storing gas, and the buffer chamber has, in the second surface, an opening having a projecting portion projecting toward the inner side of the opening.

A liquid ejection head with high environmental reliability which suppresses a crack of a Si substrate and peeling-off of an ejection port forming member by relaxing a residual stress in a printing element substrate and a manufacturing method of a liquid ejection head are provided. A liquid ejection head includes a head body configured to eject liquid, a holding portion rotatable with respect to the head body about a rotation shaft provided on the head body and configured to support the head body, and a rotation regulation portion configured to regulate the rotation of the holding portion with respect to the head body beyond an arrangement in which the holding portion, the rotation shaft, and a center of gravity of the head body aligned in a line in a direction of gravity with the head body held by the holding portion.

To provide an inkjet head which includes high-density nozzle rows and which does not easily cause an ejection failure due to adhesion of ink mist around ejection orifices when a high-density image of a secondary color is printed with a small number of paths. An inkjet head includes at least two or more types of nozzle rows that eject different amounts of ink. When A is the cross section, with respect to an ink supplying direction, of an ink supply path from each ejection orifice to a supply port and L is the length of the ink supply path, the value of A/L differs between the two or more types of nozzle rows. The nozzle row of which the value of A/L is small is disposed outside an area between the nozzle rows that eject a largest amount of ink and that are arranged next to each other.

Inkjet head

A liquid-ejecting head includes a recording element substrate that includes an energy generating element generating energy for ejecting a liquid from a discharge port, a supporting member that supports the recording element substrate and has a liquid chamber supplying the liquid to the recording element substrate, a first supply port formed in one surface thereof, communicating with the liquid chamber, and having fluid communication with the recording element substrate, a second supply port being smaller than the first supply port, formed in a surface opposite the one surface at a position corresponding to a longitudinal end side of the first supply port, and communicating with the liquid chamber, and a flow passage forming member that supplies the liquid to the second supply port. The cross-section of the liquid chamber in a direction extending from the opposite toward one surfaces gradually increases in part of the extending direction.

While the print head is reduced in size, the adverse effect of air flows produced by ink droplets as they are ejected from a small number of ejection opening arrays is minimized. A small number of first ejection opening arrays eject one of three primary colors&#x2014;cyan, magenta and yellow&#x2014;and a large number of second and third ejection opening arrays eject the remaining two primary colors. A fourth ejection opening array is disposed between the first ejection opening array and the second or third ejection opening array.
