A manufacturing method for a battery including a cell array and a case is provided. The cell array includes a plurality of single cells arranged in a certain direction. The case includes a pair of compartment members of which a longitudinal direction is a direction in which the single cells are arranged, and a first end member provided at a first end in the longitudinal direction. In the manufacturing method, in space surrounded by the compartment members and the first end member, the cell array and a second end member facing the first end member across the cell array are placed. In a direction to compress the cell array from an outside part of the second end member, each compartment member is joined with the second end member at a second end in the longitudinal direction while a predetermined load is applied to bind the cell array.

Manufacturing method for battery, and battery

A battery including a plurality of cells housed in a battery container, wherein the battery container is formed of an insulating material and includes a plurality of housing portions formed by an inner wall portion of the battery container, each of the housing portions housing an associated one of the cells, and a conductive member for use in connecting the plurality of cells is embedded in a wall portion of the battery container. The housing portion has a shape conforming to an outer face of the cell and is in contact with the outer face of the cell.

An electricity storage device includes: a plurality of cells that are aligned in a predetermined direction; a pair of end plates that sandwich the plurality of cells in the predetermined direction; and a restraining member that extends in the predetermined direction, is fixed to the pair of end plates, and exerts a restraining force on the plurality of cells in the predetermined direction via the end plates. Each of the end plates includes a first plate and a second plate. The first plate has a plurality of ribs on a surface that faces the adjacent cell and is formed of insulating material. The second plate is fixed to the first plate on a side opposite to the surface that faces the adjacent cell and is formed of material stronger than the insulating material for the first plate.

A power storage apparatus includes a plurality of power storage elements aligned in one direction; and a pair of restraint members placed at both ends of the plurality of power storage elements in an alignment direction in which the elements are aligned, the restraint members configured to give a restraint force to the plurality of power storage elements. At least one restraint member of the pair of restraint members includes, a protruding portion protruding toward the power storage element adjacent to the restraint member, an end of the protruding portion being in contact with the adjacent power storage element to form a space between the restraint member and the adjacent power storage element; and a shield portion protruding in the alignment direction and preventing a heat exchange medium for use in temperature adjustment of the power storage element from entering into the space.
