It is intended to suppress occurrence of a crack in a fixed portion of a tube with respect to a tank. A plurality of tubes (A toD) are fixed to a sidewall () in a state in which they penetrate through the sidewall () via respective ones of a plurality of through-holes () formed in the sidewall () in such a manner as to be arrayed in a line along a longitudinal direction. A heat exchanger () comprises a protective member () fixed to the sidewall () to protect a nearest tube (A) nearest to an end wall () among the plurality of tubes (A toD), wherein the protective member () has a barrier portion () interposed between the end wall () and an outlet-side end portion () of the nearest tube (A) disposed inside the sidewall ().

A muffler including an inlet member, an outlet member, an exhaust-gas cleaning device including an exhaust-gas cleaning material, the exhaust-gas cleaning device including a first inlet side coupling section and a first outlet side coupling section detachably coupled to the inlet member and the outlet member by couplers, and an intermediate member including a second inlet side coupling section and a second outlet side coupling section detachably coupled to the inlet member and the outlet member by couplers same as the couplers, instead of the exhaust-gas cleaning device. The intermediate member is a cylinder body allowing exhaust gas in the inlet member to flow directly to the outlet member without passing through the exhaust gas cleaning material, and includes a resistance generation section providing the intermediate member with exhaust resistance substantially equal to that of the exhaust-gas cleaning device.

Muffler for construction machine

Provide is a construction machine allowing an air cleaner to be located entirely low while securing dust-discharge function thereof, with no risk of adverse effects such as diffusion of dusts and complication in structure. The construction machine includes an engine and an air cleaner connected to an intake-side portion of the engine to filter intake air. The air cleaner includes an air-cleaner main body which filters the intake air and an evacuator which discharges dusts separated from the intake air and protrudes downward beyond the air-cleaner main body. The air-cleaner main body is placed on an air-cleaner placement surface, the evacuator protruding downward beyond the air-cleaner placement surface at a position deviated outward from the air-cleaner placement surface.

Provided is a construction machine including: an upper slewing body including an upper frame; an engine room on the rear portion of the upper frame; a cabin on the front portion on the right or left side of the upper frame; a plurality of tanks including a fuel tank and a hydraulic tank installed on the upper frame; an air cleaner; a center foothold on the intermediate portion in the width direction of the upper frame and forward of the engine room; and a climbing step at the opposite side to the cabin. A first tank of the plurality of tanks is placed on a portion on the right or left side of the upper frame, and a second tank is arranged on a portion between the cabin and the engine room on the opposite side to the first tank. The air cleaner is superposed on the second tank.

A device detecting a property of fuel in a course of a pipeline, while improving accuracy and stability of the fuel property detection. The device includes a sub-tank provided in the course of a fuel pipeline connecting a fuel tank and an engine, and a sensor capable of detecting the property of fuel inside the sub-tank. The sub-tank includes a fuel inlet for introducing therethrough fuel from the fuel tank, and a fuel outlet for sending out therethrough the fuel toward the engine.
