A pipette tip includes a body and projections. In the body, a flow passage in which liquid from the syringe flows and an ejection opening that ejects the liquid, which has flowed through the flow passage, to the outside are formed. The ejection opening is formed in a distal end portion. The projections are provided on the distal end portion and protrude from a region around the ejection opening in the ejection direction of liquid. The projections are partially disposed around the central axis of the body. Even in a case where a residual droplet adheres to the ejection opening, the residual droplet does not adhere to an injection opening of a sample container, because the projections guard a region around the residual droplet.

A method is provided which is capable of efficiently taking most of a precious sample into an extraction vessel without wasting when the sample is extracted from a collection section of a sampling rod. The method includes the steps of collecting a sample using a sampling rod formed of a rod body and a collection section attached to the rod body, inserting the sampling rod into the extraction vessel, placing the rod body in a gap formed in a grappling hook section which is disposed in an insertion path of the sampling rod, the gap having a width smaller than a diameter of the collection section and being capable of receiving the rod body, withdrawing the rod body with the rod body being placed in the gap and detaching the collection section from the rod body by hooking the collection section to the grappling hook section.

A flow sensor detects a flow rate of cooling air from a compressor, and a determination is made as to whether or not the detected flow rate is abnormal. A determination is made by a diaphragm position sensor as to whether or not a diaphragm is located at such a critical position that a quantity of light illuminated onto a photographic film is large, possibly resulting in degeneration of a photographic film. A lamp is turned off if the diaphragm is located at the critical position and the flow rate of the cooling air is abnormal.

Image reading apparatus

Light is irradiated onto a photographic film which is conveyed by a film carrier. A compressor generates cooling air for cooling the photographic film. A guide pipe guides the cooling air generated by the compressor to at least one of a region of the photographic film, onto which the light is irradiated, and a reverse surface of the region. In this way, since the cooling air generated by the compressor is guided to the photographic film, the photographic film can be cooled by the cooling air having large amount of flow, velocity of flow, or the like.

Image reading apparatus, image recording apparatus and image processing device

A method and mechanism are disclosed for driving optical members in an optical apparatus, in which cam means formed on a lens barrel are provided with insensitive zones, so that the lens barrel is rotated to drive a diaphragm for adjustment of its diaphragm stop after the lens has been moved to the insensitive zones, then the lens barrel is rotated in the reverse direction with the diaphragm being maintained at its adjusted diaphragm stop, and thereby power variation and/or focussing of the lens as well as adjustment of the diaphragm stop are achieved using a single drive source. A cylindrical cam 40 is provided within a stationary lens barrel 30 so as to be rotatable around an optical axis S. The cylindrical cam 40 is formed with cam slits 41 each having insensitive zones 42 at longitudinally opposite ends thereof so that an enlarging lens 20 can not be further moved back and forth when lens driving pins 27 lie in these insensitive zones 42. Diaphragm driving plates 43, 44 are mounted on the inner wall of the cylindrical cam 40 so that rotation of the cylindrical cam 40 causes these diaphragm driving plates 43, 44 to drive the diaphragm driving pin 24 while the lens driving pins 27 lie in the insensitive zones 42 and thereby to vary a diaphragm stop of an iris diaphragm 22. Once the diaphragm stop has been varied, the cylindrical cam 40 is rotated in the reverse direction to move the enlarging lens 20 to a desired position for desired power variation and/or focussing.

Method and mechanism for driving optical members in an optical apparatus

An object of this invention is to provide an original carrier and an image reader capable of performing a focusing operation every original carrier. To achieve this object, a slit hole 32 extending in a direction perpendicular to a film conveying direction is formed in a width enlarging portion of a film conveying path 34. Focusing charts 58 are formed on faces of a glass plate 38 fitted into the slit hole 32 on sides of the film conveying path 34 in both end portions of the glass plate 38 in its longitudinal direction. When light from a light source is transmitted through the focusing charts 58 of the glass plate 38 and is incident to a line CCD, focusing control is performed by a microprocessor so as to maximize the contrast of an image of each of the focusing charts 58. The focusing control can be also performed so as to maximize the contrast of an image of a photographic film 22.

Original carrier and image reader

The amount of light emitted from a lamp is adjusted by a turret and a diaphragm for each light of the component colors and is irradiated on a photographic film via a light diffusion box. Light transmitted through the photographic film is made incident on a three-line CCD via a lens unit. In order to read a film image, first, the photographic film is conveyed at high speed in a predetermined direction and is read under a predetermined reading condition (pre-scan), and based on image data obtained by the reading, a recorded position of each image is determined and a reading condition during fine scan is calculated for each image, and each image is read under the calculated reading condition while the film is conveyed at relatively low speed in a direction opposite to the predetermined direction (fine scan).
