A turbocharger includes a turbine wheel having a center hole and a turbine shaft having one end secured on a small-diameter inner circumferential surface of the center hole. A large-diameter inner circumferential surface and a large diameter outer circumferential surface are formed to provide a cylindrical clearance opening toward a bearing housing between the center hole and the outer circumferential surface of the turbine shaft.

Turbocharger

A supercharger includes a housing, and a turbine shaft supported in a center hole in the housing through rolling bearings. Lubricating oil for the rolling bearings exists only within the housing. A cooling water jacket is provided within a body portion of the housing over a region from one axial end portion of the body portion to the other axial end portion thereof.

Supercharger

A turbocharger includes a housing, and a turbine shaft supported in a center hole in the housing through rolling bearings. A tank portion for storing lubrication oil is formed in the housing, and the lubricating oil is supplied from the tank portion to the rolling bearings through wick members extending from the tank portion respectively to the rolling bearings. The wick member includes a bundle of fibers made of a plastics material, and a distal end portion thereof is separated into a fibrous condition, and this distal end portion is held in contact with the bearing. The lubricating oil is supplied to the bearing by a capillary action of the wick member.

A ball bearing with double raceway rotatably supports a pinion shaft having a pinion gear on its one end. This ball bearing with double raceway is provided with: an outer ring member having a large-diameter raceway surface and a small-diameter raceway surface; an inner ring member having a large-diameter raceway surface and a small-diameter raceway surface that correspond to the large-diameter raceway surface and the small-diameter raceway surface of the outer ring member; a large-diameter-side row of balls that are interpolated between the two large-diameter raceway surfaces; a small-diameter-side row of balls that are interpolated between the two small-diameter raceway surfaces; a large-diameter-side cage that holds the large-diameter-side row of balls; and a small-diameter-side cage that holds the small-diameter-side row of balls. In this ball bearing with double raceway, the row of balls on the anti-pinion gear side of the two rows of balls is subjected to a load prior to the row of balls on the pinion gear side.
