A glass run for an automotive door, the glass run to be assembled to a window frame of the automotive door from vehicle outside and seal a gap between the window frame and window glass, includes: a glass run body having an insertion groove and attached to a glass run attachment plate extending from an upper portion of the window frame toward the vehicle outside; and a trim strip to be assembled to a side of the glass run body closer to the vehicle outside, the trim strip extending in a vehicle front-rear direction. The trim strip includes a trim strip body made of resin and formed through extrusion molding, and a decorative tape coextruded on a side of the trim strip body closer to the vehicle outside.

Glass run for automotive door

A glass run includes an installation member and a body. The installation member couples to a frame of a door of an automobile. The body forms a channel to receive a door glass. An outer-cabin side of the installation member is extended in a direction away from the door to form an extended part. A base composed of hard resin higher in rigidity than the extended part attaches a decorative film to the extended part. The decorative film alongside of the base is bent toward an interior of the automobile, to cover an end surface of the extended part. Parts of upper and lower ends of the decorative film are removed by predetermined distance FL, FLfrom the end surface of the extended part, to reduce a width in an upper and lower direction of a remainder part of the decorative film.

Glass run and method of manufacturing the same

A decorative member is attached to a side of a glass run outside a passenger compartment without degrading the workability in the attaching the glass run to a window frame, while reducing possible dents. The glass run includes a core, a base member located on the exterior wall of a trim outside the passenger compartment and made from a material with a high flexural modulus, and a decorative member fixed to a side of the base member outside the passenger compartment.

An object of the present disclosure is to generate a click feeling, and thus improve workability, in attaching a trim strip member to a sealing member, and to increase a retaining force retaining the trim strip member to the sealing member after the attachment, without an increase in the number of components and the number of assembling steps. A trim strip memberincludes an upper engagement portionand a lower engagement portionat an upper portion and a lower portion of the trim strip member, respectively. Automotive door sealing member

When an exterior portion is provided on an exterior surface of an extrusion-molded portion of a sealing member having the extrusion-molded portion and a mold-formed portion, while appearance is made favorable, the exterior portion is inhibited from being damaged. A glass runincludes an upper glass run edgewhich is extrusion-molded, a rear connecting partwhich is molded integrally with one end portion of the upper glass run edge, and an exterior portionprovided on an exterior surface of the upper glass run edge. A surface Si of the rear connecting parton an outside of a passenger compartment is located further outside than a surface of the exterior portion.

Automotive door sealing member and method for manufacturing the same

A trim strip has upper and lower trim-strip-side mating portions. A glass run body has, at its exterior part, body-side mating portions and an upper contacting portion contacting an upper part of an exterior surface of the trim strip. The upper contacting portion has a portion contacting the trim strip, and the portion is provided with a coating. The coating is formed of an elastic material reducing the sliding resistance to the trim strip.
