Power generated by an engine is inputted to a carrier of a first planetary gear mechanism. Power generated by a motor is inputted to a sun gear of a second planetary gear mechanism. When an arriving electric vehicle arrives at a car park with parking spaces, a parking state detection means in a parking and power charging system detects the presence of empty parking spaces. An assignment means assigns a ranking of charging performance to each detected empty parking space so that the empty parking space having the charging device of a higher charging performance has a higher ranking of charging performance on the basis of descending order of charging performance of the charging devices. A communication means obtains vehicle parameters of the arriving electric vehicle. A parking space instruction means instructs the arriving electric vehicle to move to and be parked in the empty parking space having the ranking of charging performance selected on the basis of the vehicle parameter such as necessity to charge or degree to easily charge the on-vehicle battery mounted on the arriving electric vehicle.

Parking and power charging system

Provided is a fuel cell system which can accurately detect the water state of a fuel cell to appropriately control the water content of the fuel cell. Based on an FC outlet temperature detected by a temperature sensor, an FC outlet temperature change speed detection unit detects an FC outlet temperature change speed for a unit time. If the FC outlet temperature change speed detection unit judges that the detected FC outlet temperature change speed is lower than a change speed reference value stored in a memory, an impedance measurement instruction is transmitted to an impedance calculation unit. On receiving the impedance measurement instruction from the FC outlet temperature change speed detection unit, the impedance calculation unit performs the impedance measurement for the second time. In consequence, it is possible to realize such scavenging control as to keep the water content of a fuel cell at an appropriate level by the minimum number of impedance measurement times (e.g., twice).

A fuel cell system includes: an AC impedance measuring unit which measures an AC impedance of a fuel cell at a scavenging start and measures an AC impedance of the fuel cell when a predetermined time has elapsed from the scavenging start; a scavenging execution time estimation unit which estimates a scavenging execution time based on the AC impedance measured at the scavenging start, the AC impedance measured at the time when the predetermined time has elapsed from the scavenging start and the predetermined time; and a limit unit which limits the scavenging execution time to a predetermined maximum scavenging time if the scavenging execution time exceeds the maximum scavenging time.

A fuel cell system capable of adequately controlling the water content of a fuel cell is provided. An impedance reference value is stored in a memory for an impedance comparator. The impedance reference value is a reference value that is set in order to prevent the water content in a fuel cell from decreasing too much. The impedance comparator compares a measured impedance value supplied from an impedance operation unit with the impedance reference value and performs scavenging control based on the comparison result.

A fuel cell system, control method and current measuring device for a power unit are disclosed. The fuel cell system includes a fuel cell having local areas, a current measuring device associated with at least one of the local areas to measure localized current related to a specified operating characteristic, and a control section for diagnosing an operating condition of the fuel cell in response to localized current to enable optimum control of the fuel cell depending upon a specified operating characteristic determined by localized current. The control method controls the operating condition of the fuel cell in response to localized current indicative of the specified operating characteristic of the fuel cell. The current measuring device includes an electrical conductor formed with a recessed portion, a localized current conductor received in the recessed portion, and a current sensor for detecting current flowing across the localized current conductor.

Fuel cell system, related method and current measuring device for fuel cell system

A fuel cell generates electric power based on electrochemical reaction of reaction gases. A gas feed stopping device stops the feed of reaction gases into the fuel cell. At the time the power generation by the fuel cell is terminated, the fuel cell continues power generation for a while under a condition that the feed of one of the reaction gases is stopped by the gas feed stopping means. With this operation, the residual reaction gas in the fuel cell is consumed smoothly while the fuel cell continues power generation after the feed of one reaction gas is stopped. The electric potential of a cathode electrode decreases promptly. Deterioration of the cathode electrode is surely prevented.
