A cooling device for an electrical apparatus mounted on a rear side of a vehicle having a cooling airflow intake port in the vehicle interior at a lower section of a rear windshield, a supply unit which supplies a cooling airflow through the cooling airflow intake port to the electrical apparatus, a blocking unit for blocking solar radiation from coming onto the cooling airflow intake port through the rear windshield, and a control unit to control the blocking unit based on at least one of intensity of the solar radiation coming onto the cooling airflow intake port and a temperature of the cooling airflow.

When a connector portion is coupled, switching dampers block a vehicle compartment air intake duct and a vehicle compartment air discharge duct, respectively. By a blowing fan, the air-conditioned air supplied through an air-conditioned air supply conduit flows through an outside air intake duct, a power supply unit, an outside air discharge duct, and an air-conditioned air discharge conduit in turn, and cools a battery.

When a current flows through a battery, a resistance loss proportional to the square of the current is produced by an internal resistance component of the current. In a case where the temperature of a heat capacity element is raised, a charging current is controlled such that prescribed thermal energy is provided to the heat capacity element by this resistance loss. Air is induced into a power supply unit through a vehicle compartment air exhaust duct. Then, the thermal energy stored in the heat capacity element is transferred to the air induced into the power supply unit. The air to which the thermal energy has been provided from the heat capacity element is blown out toward a vehicle compartment space by a fan.

Electric vehicle and vehicle charging system

An electric motor radiator (), a feeding mechanism (), and a cooling oil circulation path () constitute a cooling mechanism that cools the electric motor () via an electric motor cooling oil that is a cooling medium. The electric motor radiator () forms a circulation path between the electric motor (), and cooling of the electric motor () is performed via the electric motor cooling oil. A PCU radiator (), a feeding mechanism () and a cooling water circulation path () constitute a cooling mechanism that cools a PCU () via a PCU cooling water that is a cooling medium. The PCU radiator () forms a circulation path between the PCU (), and cooling of the PCU () is performed via the PCU cooling water. Further, the feeding mechanism () operate by power received from a power storage portion ().

Hybrid vehicle

A regeneration control portion sets a torque command value (in general, a negative value) of a motor generator at a time of regenerative braking. A braking cooperative control portion calculates a total braking force (power) required for the entire vehicle based on a brake depression force BK of a driver and also controls the shares of the output of the total braking force between a hydraulic brake and the motor generator. An MG-ECU drives and controls the motor generator so that a regenerative torque is generated according to a torque command value. The regeneration control portion puts a limitation such that the absolute value of the regenerative torque is smaller at a time of downhill travel than at a time of flat-road travel, for the same brake operation.

A cooling apparatus of a vehicle includes a single radiator and an air conditioner condenser. The single radiator is sectioned a cooling portion of an engine cooling system and a cooling portion of a second cooling system which is to be kept at a lower temperature than the engine cooling system. The air conditioner condenser includes a condensing portion and a sub-cool portion. The condensing portion of the air conditioner condenser and the cooling portion of the second cooling system of the single radiator are offset to each other in a vertical direction such that the condensing portion of the air conditioner condenser and the cooling portion of the second cooling system of the single radiator are not overlapped when viewed in a front-to-rear direction of the vehicle.

A cooling apparatus of a vehicle includes a single radiator and an air conditioner condenser. The single radiator is partitioned into a cooling portion of an engine cooling system and a cooling portion of a second cooling system which is to be kept at a lower temperature than the engine cooling system. The air conditioner condenser includes a condensing portion and a sub-cool portion. The condensing portion of the air conditioner condenser and the cooling portion of the second cooling system of the single radiator are offset from each other in a vertical direction such that the condensing portion of the air conditioner condenser and the cooling portion of the second cooling system of the single radiator are not overlapped when viewed in a front-to-rear direction of the vehicle.
