According to a notebook-sized personal computer of an embodiment, a base housing retains an arithmetic unit, an antenna having antenna elements, and covers. An LCD housing retains an LCD. Hinges rotatably couple the base housing and the LCD housing to each other. In the base housing, a pair of depression sections are formed by depressing both ends of one side thereof. In each of the pair of depression sections, an antenna element is accommodated. On the base housing, to end sections respectively adjacent to the pair of depression sections along the one side of the base housing, the hinges are respectively provided. The covers respectively accommodate each of the antenna elements, and are constituted of a material through which a radio wave is passed.

Electronic device

According to one embodiment, a docking unit includes a placement surface which slopes down to a front side of the docking unit and configured to receive an electronic device, a docking connector on the placement surface and configured to connect to an extended connector of the electronic device, a groove portion recessed under the placement surface and located behind the docking connector, a biasing member detachably fitted into the groove portion, and a pressing member on a top surface of the biasing member configured to protrude upward from the top surface and to retract downward into the top surface by first resilience.

Docking unit

According to one embodiment, an electronic device includes a housing, an outer wall, a rib, a cable, and a stopper. The housing houses at least part of an electronic component. The outer wall constitutes at least part of an outer contour of the housing. The rib is located between the outer wall and the electronic component, and the outer surface of the rib faces the inner surface of the outer wall. The cable is routed between the outer wall and the rib. The stopper is housed in the housing, and engages the rib to prevent the rib from inclining toward the outer wall.

An electronic device includes: a circuit board that has a wireless communication module that is mounted thereon and a feed line that is formed on the circuit board and electrically connected to the wireless communication module; a planar member that is formed with an opening and has a flexible planar piece that is formed to protrude toward the circuit board from an edge of the opening; and an antenna pattern that includes an antenna part that is formed on the planar member and a feeder part that is formed on the flexible planar piece, wherein circuit board and the planar member are arranged to be in positions to flexibly bend the flexible planar piece by the circuit board to electrically connect the feeder part of the antenna pattern and the feed line formed on the circuit board.

According to one embodiment, an electronic apparatus includes a semiconductor package including a resin substrate and a die mounted on the resin substrate, a printed circuit board on which the semiconductor package is mounted, and a heat receiving plate that has an area larger than an area of the die. The heat receiving plate has a concave portion that corresponds to a surface of the die at a normal temperature. The concave portion is provided with a pasty heat conductive agent. The heat receiving plate is thermally connected to the semiconductor package via the pasty heat conductive agent.

Electronic apparatus

According to one embodiment, an electronic apparatus comprises: a casing comprising a circuit module; a keyboard mounting portion on which a keyboard is detachably mounted, and a cover detachably covering the opening. The key board mounting portion comprises an opening which allows a wiring electrically connecting the keyboard and the circuit module to be passed therethrough. An area of the opening is equal to or less than half of an area of the keyboard mounting portion.

According to one embodiment, an electronic apparatus includes a conductive layer provided on an outer surface of a housing, a conductive member provided inside the housing, and a connecting component attached to the housing. The housing is provided with a through hole which causes the inside of the housing to communicate with the outside. The connecting component has conductivity, and is provided with a major diameter section and a minor diameter section. The major diameter section is formed larger than the through hole, is opposed to the conductive layer from outside the housing, and is electrically connected to the conductive layer. The minor diameter section is formed smaller than the through hole, is inserted in the through hole to reach the inside of the housing, and is electrically connected to the conductive member.

According to one embodiment, an electronic apparatus is provided with a first case including a peripheral wall, a display device contained in the first case and including four side faces, a second case, a hinge shaft which swingably supports the first case on the second case, and a bracket which is connected to the hinge shaft and extends in the first case. The bracket includes a holding portion, which extends along one of the side faces of the display device and is fixed to the display device, and a fixing portion fixed to a peripheral portion of the first case situated off regions defined between the four side faces of the display device and those wall portions of the peripheral wall which face the side faces, individually.

An electronic apparatus comprises a display housing supported by a main unit, and a display panel contained in the display housing. The display housing has a supporting wall and an upper wall. The display housing contains an antenna board. The antenna board is interposed between the display panel and the supporting wall, and has an antenna portion which projects outside the display housing and pierces through the upper wall. A nonconductive cover which covers the antenna portion is attached to the upper wall of the display housing.

An apparatus and method for releasing a load stress imposed during operation of a handheld electronic device includes a thin housing body defining an opening for mounting a keyboard panel. The keyboard panel has a relatively low rigidity. A spacing structure is provided to maintain a predetermined distance between a surface of a semiconductor package mounted on the keyboard panel and the thin housing body. The height of the spacing structure is greater than the height of the semiconductor package so that the predetermined distance is maintained when the keyboard panel is elastically deflected.

Handheld electronic device having a stress releasing structure and method for releasing stress imposed thereto

A portable information-processing apparatus comprising a housing having a first wall and a second wall opposing the first wall. A first manual operating member is provided on the first wall and exposed. A second manual operating member is provided on the second wall, is exposed, and facing away from the first manual operating member. In the housing there is provided a reinforcing plate for receiving the pressure which is generated when the first manual operating member is operated. The reinforcing member is located between the first and second operating members and supported by the first wall. The first and second manual operating members are supported by the first wall. The reinforcing plate is placed apart from the second manual operating member, forming a gap. The second wall has a projection which abuts on the reinforcing plate.

Portable information-processing apparatus having a manual operation

A circuit module comprising a circuit board, a function component, and a heat sink. The circuit board has a number of circuit components and a circuit element which generates heat while operating. The function component is secured to the circuit board by screws. The heat sink is connected to the circuit board by the screws, for radiating heat generated by the circuit element.

A small or very small notebook type or palmtop type personal computer has a display device which is attached to a computer main body in an openable and closable fashion. The display device has a display panel body coupled to the computer main body in an openable and closable fashion by hinge mechanisms provided at both ends of the computer main body, and a display panel provided on the computer main body. The bottom portion of the display panel is the horizontal area between both hinge mechanisms. Therefore, the display panel is arranged within the limited space of the display panel body in such a way as to be able to avoid both hinge mechanisms even when the display panel constitutes, for example, a horizontally elongated display screen.

Portable computer

A portable electronic apparatus has a housing body with a peripheral wall. The housing body includes a first receptacle having an opening portion opening to the peripheral wall. A battery pack is detachably mounted in the first receptacle. A second receptacle for detachably containing a memory card is formed within the housing body. The second receptacle has a slot for insertion and removable of the memory card. The slot is open to the first receptacle of the housing body and is covered by the battery pack mounted in the first receptacle.
