According to one embodiment, a battery module includes a plurality of sub-modules. The plurality of sub-modules are integrated. Each of the plurality of sub-modules includes a cell group configured using a plurality of cells connected in series. The plurality of cells configuring the cell group are arranged linearly such that intra-cell current directions are parallel and the intra-cell current direction of each of the cells is opposite to the intra-cell current direction of the cell adjacent to each cell in the cell group. Each of the plurality of sub-modules includes an input terminal to input a current to the cell group and an output terminal to output the current from the cell group.

According to some embodiments, a battery control device has a current detector, a storage, and a state determiner. The current detector detects a current value of a current which flows into a second battery which is connected in parallel to a first battery. The first battery and the second battery are charged with a fixed current. The storage stores an initial value of the current which flows into the second battery if the second battery is charged with the fixed current in an initial use stage of the second battery. The state determiner determines a state of the first battery based on the current value detected by the current detector and the initial value stored in the storage.

In a battery system for use in a vehicle as power supply, a plurality of battery groups, each configured to output a rated voltage while being charged, in parallel to an input/output system line by a system connection device, BMU devices monitor the battery groups, respectively, determining whether the battery groups enter an abnormal state, and any battery group entering the abnormal state is designated and disconnected from the input/output system line. According to one embodiment, a measurement system includes a wireless relay device, a moving-object-mounted terminal and a data processor. The wireless relay device forms a wireless area for performing wireless communication. The moving-object-mounted terminal is mounted to a moving object within the wireless area. The moving-object-mounted terminal includes a Global Positioning System (GPS) unit and a wireless unit. The GPS unit acquires positional data of the moving object and time data indicating the time when the positional data has been acquired by GPS. The wireless unit converts the positional data and the time data into a wireless signal, and transmits the wireless signal to the wireless relay device. The data processor receives the wireless signal from the moving-object-mounted terminal via the wireless relay device, and calculates time required for the moving object to move a predetermined distance within the wireless area based on the positional data and the time data.
