Provided is a perfluoropolyether compound that has a high degree of solubility in a fluorine-based solvent, has high heat resistance, and exhibits a strong interaction with magnetic disks. A perfluoropolyether compound having a structure represented by formula (1):R—CH—R—(L—R)—CH—R  (1) In formula (1), Rf is a perfluoropolyether group, Rand/or Ris/are a group having a structure represented by formula (2), and an OH group is further present between Rf and a molecular terminal.
