A recording apparatus includes: a recording section that performs recording onto a medium; an operation panel which is configured to be tilted to switch between a first position and a second position which is closer to a horizontal position than the first position is; and an open/close structure configured to be opened/closed, and configured to, when open, expose a space around a recording unit under the operation panel which has been tilted at least from the first position into a horizontal direction, and, when closed, close the space around the recording unit. The open/close structure has a pivot center in a lower part of the open/close structure in a closed state, and is configured to open forward relative to the apparatus with an upper part of the open/close structure in the closed state taken as a free end.

A recording apparatus includes a switching mechanism which switches a motive force transmission state from a motive force source, includes a sun gear which is driven by the motive force source, a planet gear which performs planetary motion around the sun gear, a rotational movement member which causes the planet gear to perform planetary motion by rotationally moving, and a regulating member which engages with a regulated portion which is provided in the rotational movement member to restrict the rotational movement of the rotational movement member.

A recording apparatus includes: a housing; a recording device that is provided inside the housing; a medium receiving tray moves between a first position and a second position, the first position being housed inside the housing, the second position being a position of protruding from the housing; a guide for guiding the medium receiving tray; and a guided portion of the medium receiving tray being guided by the guide, wherein the guide includes a first guide area and a second guide area, wherein the first guide area is guiding the guided portion from the first position to a third position that is located between the first position and the second position before the second position, wherein the second guide area is guiding the guided portion from the third position to the second position, and wherein the second guide area includes a narrowing area narrower than the first guide area.

A printer includes a configuration, in which a paper is delivered between a recording head which is positioned upwards from a tray and a support member, and the recording is performed, and then the paper is discharged towards a discharged-paper receiving tray. The discharged-paper receiving tray is configured such that a relief section is formed to avoid an arrangement region of an oscillation member configuring a feeding unit upstream thereof, and the oscillation member is able to oscillate inside the relief section.
