Provided is a dielectric ceramic that includes a main component which contains MgSiOand additives which contain a zinc oxide and a glass component, in which, in X-ray diffraction. The peak intensity ratio, I/I, of the X-ray diffraction peak intensity Iof zinc oxide remaining unreacted, for which 2&#x3b8; is between 31.0&#xb0; and 32.0&#xb0; and between 33.0&#xb0; and 34.0&#xb0;, with respect to the peak intensity Iof MgSiOas the main phase, for which 2&#x3b8; is between 36.0&#xb0; and 37.0&#xb0;, is 10% or less. The dielectric ceramic has a relative density of 96% or greater.

Dielectric ceramic, method for producing dielectric ceramic, and electronic component

A dielectric ceramic includes a main component and a minor component. The main component includes a BaTiOcrystal phase and a BaTiOcrystal phase, is represented by BaO.xTiO, has a molar ratio x of TiOto BaO of 4.6 to 8.0, and in X-ray diffraction, and has an X-ray diffraction peak intensity ratio I/Iof a maximum diffraction peak intensity (I) of the BaTiOcrystal phase to a maximum diffraction peak intensity (I) of the BaTiOcrystal phase of 1 or more. The minor component includes a boron oxide and a copper oxide, in which the boron oxide content is in the range of 0.5 to 5.0 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the main component, and the copper oxide content is in the range of 0.1 to 3.0 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the main component.

A dielectric porcelain composition contains a major component represented by a composition formula (BaO.xTiO). The dielectric porcelain composition contains also contains a first minor component represented by a composition formula rBOand a second minor component represented by a composition formula rCuO. In the formulae, x is a molar ratio of TiOto BaO and is within a range of 4.6 to 8, ris a weight ratio of BOwith respect to the major component and is within a range of 0.5 to 5% by mass, and ris a weight ratio of CuO with respect to the major component and is within a range of 0.1 to 3% by mass.

Dielectric ceramic composition and electronic component using the same

A multilayer ceramic substrate includes a plurality of stacked glass ceramic layers and internal conductors. The glass ceramic layers contain at least one diffusion element selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr and Mn. The internal conductors contain Ag as a conductive material. The multilayer ceramic substrate is produced by the steps of adding at least one diffusion element selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr and Mn to conductive paste and diffusing the diffusion element in the glass ceramic layers around the conductive paste. As a result, defects otherwise possibly generated around the internal conductors can be eliminated with exactitude.

Multilayer ceramic substrate

A highly reliable ceramics substrate which can sufficiently secure a bonding strength of a surface conductor in an initial state and after a lapse of time (e.g., after a PCT) is provided. The multilayer ceramics substrate has a surface conductor on at least one surface of a multilayer body constituted by a plurality of laminated ceramics substrate layers. A reaction phase formed by a reaction between a ceramics component in the ceramics substrate layers and a glass component in the surface conductor is deposited at an interface between the surface conductor and ceramics substrate layers. For example, an alumina filler in the ceramics substrate layers and Zn in the surface conductor react with each other, thereby forming ZnAlOas the reaction phase.

Multilayer ceramics substrate

A green sheet slurry, characterized by including ceramic powder, a binder resin, a plasticizer and a solvent, wherein the binder resin contains a polyvinyl butyral resin, a polymerization degree of the polybutyral resin is 1000 or more and 1700 or less, a nominal value of a butyralation degree of the resin is 65% or higher and 78% or lower, and a residual acetyl group amount is smaller than 6%.

An internal electrode paste comprises electrode material powder, a binder resin containing a polyvinyl butyral resin as the main component, and a solvent. The internal electrode paste furthermore comprises a plasticizer, and the plasticizer is contained by 25 parts by weight or more and 150 parts by weight or less with respect to 100 parts by weight of the binder resin. The binder resin is contained by 2.5 to 5.5 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the electrode material powder. It is possible to provide an internal electrode paste having enough strength and an adhesive force for the dry transfer method, and a production method of an electronic device using the paste.

By compacting in a magnetic field a mixture containing powder raw material A having a composition represented by (Tb.sub.x Dy.sub.1-x)T.sub.y wherein T is at least one metal of Fe, Co, and Ni and 0.30&lt;x.ltoreq.x 0.50 and 1.70.ltoreq.y.ltoreq.2.00, powder raw material B having a composition represented by (Dy.sub.1-t Tb.sub.t).sub.z T.sub.1-z wherein 0.ltoreq.t.ltoreq.0.30 and 0.40.ltoreq.z.ltoreq.0.80 and optionally, powder raw material C consisting essentially of element T, and sintering the compact, there is prepared a magnetostrictive material having a composition represented by (Tb.sub.v Dy.sub.1-v)T.sub.w wherein 0.27.ltoreq.v&lt;0.50 and 1.70.ltoreq.w.ltoreq.2.00, with grains oriented along [111] axis. The material having minimal crystalline magnetic anisotropy at room temperature and large magnetostrains is obtained at low cost by powder metallurgy.
