A spindle motor includes a shaft, a base part, a stator core, a rotor, and a bearing part. The shaft extends along a center axis extending in the vertical direction and has a screw hole extending axially downward from the upper end thereof. The screw hole has a screw part onto which a screw is screwed. The bearing part includes an upper annular member, a lower annular member, and a sleeve. The upper annular member and the lower annular member protrude radially outward from an outer peripheral surface of the shaft and are disposed to be spaced apart from each other in the axial direction. The sleeve covers the outer peripheral surface of the shaft, extends in the axial direction, and is defined in a cylindrical shape. The upper end of the upper annular member is disposed lower than the lower end of the screw part in the axial direction.

A motor includes a shaft, a base portion, a stator, and a rotor. The shaft extends along a central axis extending in an axial direction. The base portion extends in a radial direction on one axial direction side of the shaft. The stator is located in another axial direction with respect to the base portion and surrounds the shaft. The rotor is rotatable around the central axis. The rotor includes a rotor tube portion, a magnet, and a rotor flange portion. The rotor tube portion surrounds the stator. The magnet is opposed to the stator in the radial direction. The rotor flange portion extends in a radially outer direction from one axial end portion of the rotor tube portion. The rotor tube portion includes a yoke tube portion and a hub tube portion. The yoke tube portion is located on a radially inside surface of the hub tube portion.

A stator includes a cylindrical shaft extending in an axial direction, annular portions positioned side by side in the axial direction radially outside the shaft and extending in a radial direction, pole teeth extending in the axial direction from a radially outer end portion of each of the annular portions, and one or more coils between the annular portions adjacent to each other in the axial direction and wound around the shaft. The shaft includes at least one slit recessed radially inward from an outer peripheral surface of the shaft and extending along the axial direction. A portion of the at least one slit is radially inside the annular portion. A lead wire of the coil is accommodated in the at least one slit.

Stator and motor

A spindle motor includes a base, a shaft arranged on the base and extending in a vertical direction, a stator having a coil defined by a wound conductive wire and arranged on an upper surface of the base, and a rotor rotatably supported around the shaft. The base has a through hole that penetrates the base from the upper surface to a lower surface. The conductive wire is drawn out to the lower surface side through the inside of the through hole. The through hole is sealed by a sealing material. The through hole includes a columnar lower column body and a columnar upper column body. The lower column body is arranged on the lower surface side of the base. A cross-sectional area of the upper column body orthogonal to an axial direction is smaller than a cross-sectional area of the lower column body orthogonal to the axial direction.

Spindle motor and disk drive device including the same

A stator includes a first sleeve extending in an axial direction and a first stator core on an outer periphery of the first sleeve. The first stator core includes a lower core and an upper core on a side of the lower core opposed to a first end of the axial direction. The lower core includes a lower annular portion with an annular shape and lower pole teeth protruding radially outward from a radially outer end surface of the lower annular portion and extending to a second end of the axial direction. The upper core includes an upper annular portion with an annular shape arranged on the lower annular portion opposed to the first end of the axial direction to overlap the lower annular portion, and upper pole teeth protruding radially outward from a radially outer end surface of the upper annular portion and extending to the second end of the axial direction. Each of the lower pole teeth and each of the upper pole teeth are alternately arranged in the circumferential direction.

A spindle motor includes a rotary unit, a bearing mechanism, a stator, a base member, and a connector connected to a leader line extending from the stator through a communication hole of the base member. The connector includes a pedestal and a metal pin. The leader line is connected to a first pin terminal of the metal pin on a hole-positioning lower surface of a hole-defining portion of the pedestal. An upper surface of the metal pin is separated from the pedestal at a specified separation position between the first pin terminal and a second pin terminal. A connection position of the first pin terminal and the leader line on the hole-positioning lower surface is covered with an adhesive agent. The periphery of a gap between the metal pin and the pedestal over an extent from the first pin terminal to the separation position is sealed by the adhesive agent.
