In an image forming system including an apparatus main-body and a control portion which controls a fixing operation, to the apparatus main-body, a first fixing unit including a first heater and a second fixing unit including a second heater, which is different from the first heater, can be selectively attached, and each of the first and second fixing units has an information processing portion which transmits data including identification information and temperature information related to a temperature detected by a temperature detection element to the control portion, and the control portion discriminates which of the first fixing unit and the second fixing unit, the fixing unit attached to the apparatus main-body is on the basis of the identification information from the information processing portion and controls the fixing operation by the fixing unit on the basis of the temperature information.

An image forming apparatus comprises an accommodating unit that accommodates recording materials and has a regulating plate that regulates a trailing edge of the recording material in a feeding direction, detects a recording material fed from the accommodating unit, and measures time from a predetermined timing until a recording material is detected. An information processing apparatus receives time data obtained by a measuring unit from the image forming apparatus, classifies a plurality of time data received from a reception unit into a first group and a second group in accordance with a length of time, and determines using time data included in the first group and the time data included in the second group whether a position of the regulating plate is misaligned in relation to a reference position that corresponds to a size of the recording material accommodated on the accommodating unit.

An image forming apparatus includes a storage unit, a conveyance unit, an opening, and a movement unit. The storage unit stores, in an apparatus body of the image forming apparatus, a sheet having an image. The conveyance unit conveys the sheet having the image to the storage unit. The opening exposes the stored sheet to an outside of the apparatus body. The movement unit is movable to a first position where the sheet conveyed to the storage unit can be stored in the storage unit and a second position. The stored sheet is moved when the movement unit moves from the first to the second position, and is stopped in an exposed state where a part of the sheet is exposed to outside the apparatus body from the opening. The movement unit moves from the second to the first position when the sheet is in the exposed state.
