A display apparatus capable of preventing wrinkles from occurring on an optical sheet due to thermal expansion, while suppressing damage caused by the movement of the optical sheet when the optical sheet vibrates, is provided. In order to prevent wrinkles from occurring due to thermal expansion while suppressing damage caused by the movement of the optical sheet when the optical sheet vibrates, a clearance between an engaging hole provided in a central engagement flange and the protrusion engaging with the engaging hole is smaller than a clearance between an engaging hole provided in an engagement flange other than the central engagement flange and the protrusion.

Display apparatus

A segmented-pixel liquid crystal display has a plurality of pixels of which each has three sub-pixels-, namely one middle and two side sub-pixels, arranged next to one another in the column or row direction. The sub-pixels-have different brightness levels when the pixel as a whole is in a given middle halftone state, and the middle sub-pixelhas the highest brightness level. This eliminates unnaturalness as is conventionally produced when an image with a straight border is displayed, and further improves the gamma characteristic.

Liquid crystal display

An active matrix substrate has a structure that prevents a drain extraction line from breaking without a plurality of active elements such as thin film transistor elements, metal-insulator-metal elements, MOS transistor elements, diodes, and varistors being disposed, and is suited for use in a large-size liquid crystal television or a like liquid crystal display device equipped with a large-size liquid crystal display panel. The active matrix substrate includes an active element connected, via a drain extraction line, to a storage capacitor upper electrode, wherein the drain extraction line has at least two routes.

Active matrix substrate and display device

In one embodiment of the present invention, an active matrix display apparatus includes a screen having a plurality of regions each provided with a gate driver, in each of which plurality of regions scanning lines are driven so as to be sequentially selected by use of timing of a gate clock signal supplied to the gate driver, wherein corresponding ones of the gate clock signals for some of the plurality of regions have respective different pulse widths. Thus, it is possible to realize a display apparatus including a screen having a plurality of regions, in which display apparatus a difference in brightness between ones of some of the plurality of regions can be prevented.

The active matrix substrate of the present invention is an active matrix substrate in which a drain extraction line can be prevented from breaking without a plurality of active elements such as TFT (thin film transistor) elements, MIM (metal-insulator-metal) elements, MOS transistor elements, diodes, and varistors being disposed, and is suited for use in large-size liquid crystal television or a like liquid crystal display device equipped with a large-size liquid crystal display panel. The active matrix substrate of the present invention is an active matrix substrate comprising an active element connected, via a drain extraction line, to a storage capacitor upper electrode, wherein the drain extraction line has at least two routes.
