A drive pulley structure has a cylindrical pulley member, a hub structure that is provided inside the pulley member so as to rotate relative to the pulley member, a coil spring that is fixed to the hub structure, a tapering which has a conical round surface as of a cone whose axis is made up of a rotational axis J of the hub structure, and a frictional member that is inserted to be interposed between the conical round surface of the tapering and the pulley member, and the coil spring is inserted to be interposed in place while being compressed in the direction of the rotational axis of the hub structure, the tapering, the frictional member and the pulley member being brought into press contact with each other by virtue of a restoring force P of the coil spring.

Pulley structure

The present power transmission mechanism comprises: a first rotation member mounted integrally rotatably on the rotation shaft of a drive apparatus; a second rotation member rotatable integrally with or relative to the first rotation member; an elastic member interposed between the first and second rotation members which, when the first and second rotation members rotate relative to each other, absorbs a rotation difference between them; and, a switching portion which includes a mass member mounted on one of the first and second rotation members and rotatable integrally therewith, and an energizing member for energizing the mass member in a direction where it can be contacted with the other of the first and second rotation members. In the switching portion, when the number of rotations of the rotation shaft is a given number of rotations or less, the mass member is contacted with the other rotation member due to the energizing force of the energizing member to generate a frictional force between their contacted surfaces, thereby preventing the relative rotation between the first and second rotation members. And, when the number of rotations of the rotation shaft exceeds a given number of rotations, due to a centrifugal force generated from the rotation of the rotation shaft, the mass member is shifted against the energizing force of the energizing member and is separated from the other rotation member, thereby allowing the relative rotation between the first and second rotation members through the elastic member.

Power transmission mechanism

An automatic tensioner includes a base, a rotary member to which a pulley around which a belt is wound can be attached, a coil spring including one end locked on the base and the other end locked on the rotary member, an elastic element including one end locked on one of the rotary member and the base and the other end which is a free end and extending along an inner circumferential surface of the other of the rotary member and the base, and a friction member connected so as to be brought into contact with the inner circumferential surface, wherein the coil spring is disposed in such a state that the coil spring is compressed in an axial direction and the friction member is pressed against the one of the rotary member and the base by a repulsive force attempting to expand in an axial direction.

Auto-tensioner

A pulley structure having a first rotating member that is rotatable around a first axis. A second rotating member is rotatable around the first axis and in at least partial axial coincidence with the first rotating member. A spring containing chamber is defined between the first and second rotating members. A spring, having axially spaced first and second ends defined by coils, extends around the first axis. At least one coil at each of the first and second axially spaced ends of the spring is radially biased relative to the first axis to thereby be frictionally held against each of the first and second rotating members to thereby allow forces generated by relative rotation between the first and second rotating members to be transmitted through the spring.

A pulley assembly having first and second members. The first member is capable of cooperating with a power transmission belt to drive/be driven by the belt. The first member is movable guidingly relative to the second member around a first axis. A coil spring has a length and a circumference and a first portion attached to the first member and a second portion attached to the second member so that a force tending to move the first/second member around the first axis is transmitted through the coil spring to the second/first member. At least one of the first and second members has a groove bounded by a surface into which the respective portion of the coil spring is fit. The respective portion of the coil spring is clamp fit within the groove.
