An anti-theft apparatus for use in a vehicle-mounted electronic component includes a removable control panel. Protrusions on a first side of the control panel engage holes in a first side of an equipment body of the electronic component and function as hinges as the control panel is rotated to a mounted position. A first electrical connector on the equipment body engages a second electrical connector on a rear surface of the control panel and a biasing member exerts a force against the rear surface of the control panel. The control panel includes a recess in a second side into which a locking protrusion of a locking mechanism in the equipment body extends. A button actuates the locking mechanism retracting the locking protrusion and allowing the biasing member to eject the control panel from the equipment body. The locking protrusion is retracted by a sliding cam or directly by depression of the button. Another embodiment includes a concavity in the control panel which engages a deflectable protrusion on the equipment body after the release button is depressed so as to retain the control panel in an ejected position for removal by the user. Elastic members engage the protrusions of the control panel providing a click feel during removal and retain the control panel in the ejected position. Another embodiment includes an elastic protrusion in the equipment body which engages a corresponding concavity in the front panel to retain the front panel in an ejection position.

Vehicle-mounted equipment anti-theft mechanism

When an operating unit (10) of a vehicle-mounted electronic equipment is attached to its equipment body (20), a first engaging portion (18) and a second engaging portion (24) of engaging means are engaged and the operating unit is turned around the engaging means in a direction in which the operating unit contacts the equipment body substantially completely. In this case, a releasing member (11) moves a locking member (4) to a releasing position. Under such situation, a locking portion (7) of the operating unit and a locking portion (6) of the equipment body are aligned in position. The locking member (4) is then turned to a locking position where the locking means is locked to thereby complete the attachment of the operating unit to the equipment body. When the operating unit is to be removed from the equipment body, the releasing member (11) is operated to release the restriction of the locking member (4) by a restricting member (3), and the locking member is turned in a releasing direction to thereby release the locking means and hence remove the operating unit from the equipment body.

Apparatus for locking an operating unit to a vehicle-mounted electronic

A controller mounting structure for a controller which can be removed from a front panel of the structure when the structure is not being used. The panel has a mounting port for the controller, and a first connecting terminal means arranged inside of the mounting port. A second connecting terminal means which connects with the first connecting terminal means is arranged within the controller. The mounting port has a terminal protecting element which protects the first connecting terminal means when the controller is removed. The terminal protecting element is forced toward the controller by an urging member. When the controller is being mounted on the mounting port, the terminal protecting element pushes the controller and the terminal protecting element acts as a damper for the shock of mounting operation.

Controller mounting structure

Disclosed is a detachable type carborne electronic apparatus equipped with a rotatable handle, which can be used both in carrying the electronic apparatus and in locking and unlocking the electronic apparatus from the car body. Specifically after being pushed in the dashboard, the electronic apparatus can be locked by rotating and lowering its handle. The electronic apparatus can be unlocked by rotating and raising its handle, and then the electronic apparatus is ready for withdrawal from the dashboard.

A car electronic device mounting assembly for mounting a car stereo or other car electronic device in a mounting aperture provided in a car body comprises a rectangular, hollow bracket fixed in the mounting aperture and having an engage hole formed in its side wall, lock claws provided on the car electronic device to engage the engage hole to hold the car device immovable with respect to the bracket, and an unlocking bar configured to resiliently retract the lock claws from the engage hole into the interior of the electronic device to unlock the electronic device from the bracket.
