A converter circuit converts AC electric power into DC power. An inverter circuit converts the DC power into AC power. A capacitor is connected in parallel to each of the converter circuit and the inverter circuit between these circuits. The capacitor allows variation of an output voltage from the converter circuit, and absorbs variation of an output voltage from the inverter circuit due to a switching operation. An overvoltage protection circuit includes a resistor and a semiconductor element connected in series to each other. The overvoltage protection circuit is connected in parallel to the capacitor to protect the inverter circuit from an overvoltage. First and second control units respectively control the inverter circuit and the overvoltage protection circuit.

Power conversion device

In a first section of a power conversion device, a second switch is turned off, a first duty drec and a third duty dz are selected so that a direct current voltage Vdc to be input to a current source becomes equal to a direct current voltage command value Vdc*, a first conversion operation of supplying power from the voltage source to the current source is performed, and the capacitor is charged by the rectified voltage via the clamp diode. In a second section of the power conversion device, a first switch is turned off, a second duty dc and the third duty dz are selected so that the direct current voltage Vdc to be input to the current source becomes equal to the direct current voltage command value Vdc*, and a second conversion operation of supplying power from the capacitor to the current source is performed.

Power conversion device performing first and second conversion operations

Power converter and air conditioner

A power converter includes a plurality of switching elements, a converter circuit that rectifies an AC voltage of an AC power source, a DC link that receives output of the converter circuit and generates a DC voltage, an inverter circuit that converts the DC voltage into an AC voltage of a predetermined frequency through a switching operation, and a control unit that controls the switching operation. A capacitance value of a capacitor is set so that a maximum value of the DC voltage becomes twice or more of a minimum value. The control unit controls the switching elements such that two or more extrema appear in a power source half cycle in a waveform synthesized from second, fourth, and sixth harmonics that have a power source frequency as a fundamental frequency and are extracted from a waveform of an absolute value of a motor current vector.

An electric power conversion device includes: a converter circuit which includes a boost chopper; a capacitor which is connected between output terminals of the converter circuit; a boost chopper which boosts a terminal voltage of the capacitor; a multiphase inverter circuit; and a boost chopper controller. In a case where the operation of the boost chopper is continuously stopped, the capacitor has a capacitance allowing the terminal voltage of the capacitor to have a pulse frequency twice as high as that of the AC power source. The multiphase inverter circuit has an output power which is allowed to fluctuate in synchronization with a power source.

Electric power conversion device

Disclosed herein is a power conversion device including a storage and a power conversion controller. The storage stores multiple values, each correlated to a disturbance that causes distortion in a current to a power converter, in association with a phase angle of a voltage of an AC power supply. The power conversion controller controls ON/OFF operations by using the values stored in the storage to compensate for a manipulated variable of control performed by the power converter in association with the phase angle of the voltage of the AC power supply.

Power conversion device with reduced current deviation

A DC link is provided, which includes a capacitor connected in parallel to an output of a converter circuit, and outputs a pulsating DC link voltage. An inverter circuit is provided, which converts an output of the DC link to AC by switching, and supplies the AC to a motor connected thereto. A controller is provided, which controls switching of the inverter circuit so that motor currents pulsate in synchronization with pulsation of a power-supply voltage. The controller controls the switching of the inverter circuit in accordance with a load of the motor or an operational state of the motor, and reduces pulsation amplitude of the motor currents.

Power conversion apparatus

Apparatus and methods for phase current detection used for driving a motor by supplying outputs from a pulse width modulation (PWM) converter to the motor. One method presented provides detecting a DC link current and a vector pattern, determining whether a voltage vector lengths exceeds a predetermined value, and adjusting the voltage vector by adding a positive or reversed voltage based upon the above determination and an integrated error value.

A first condenser is connected between output terminals of a rectifier circuit which receives an AC power as an input, and a three phase inverter is connected in parallel with respect to the first condenser, and output of the three phase inverter is supplied to a motor, and a second condenser is connected in parallel to the input side of the three phase inverter, and a current detector is connected between the first condenser and the second condenser, and a third condenser is connected in parallel to the first condenser at a position slightly power side with respect to the current detector, and the capacitance of the second condenser is determined as small as possible within the range in which power devices are not destroyed by surge voltage due to switching, therefore, ringing is suppressed, and taking of current is performed rapidly and with high accuracy.

Phase current detector

The present invention relates to a motor and especially to a technique for maintaining constant power consumption in preheating a compressor motor in an air conditioner. An object thereof is to permit constant preheating of the motor irrespective of variations in receiving voltage. To accomplish this object, switching control of an inverter ( ) that applies a three-phase current to a motor ( ) is performed by a control circuit ( ) in accordance with a duty based on detected values of voltage (Vm) and current (Im). This duty decreases with increasing receiving voltage.
