An impeller for a high-temperature gas blower suitable for a floating conveyor furnace, having vanes each formed of a dispersion-strengthened alloy which includes as a disperse or internal phase 0.1-2.0% by weight of finely divided particles of an oxide of a high melting-point metal, such as Y.sub.2 O.sub.3, Ce.sub.2 O.sub.3, ZrO.sub.2, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and Gd.sub.2 O.sub.3, preferably dispersed in an austenite matrix or external phase of Cr, Fe, Al, Ti and Ni. An impeller for a high-temperature gas blower suitable for a floating conveyor furnace, having vanes each formed of a dispersion-strengthened alloy which includes as a disperse or internal phase 0.1-2.0% by weight of finely divided particles of an oxide of a high melting-point metal, such as Y.sub.2 O.sub.3, Ce.sub.2 O.sub.3, ZrO.sub.2, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and Cd.sub.2 O.sub.3, preferably dispersed in an austenite matrix or external phase of Cr, Fe, Al, Ti and Ni. Nickel-base alloy for glass-contracting member used in unenergized state

A novel oxide-dispersion strengthened type heat-resistant alloy is provided for use of preparing furnace members such as a skid rail. The alloy consists essentially of up to about 0.2% C+N, up to about 2.0% Si, up to about 2.0% Mn, about 15 to 35% Ni and about 0.2 to 4% Ta, and the balance of Fe, and contains about 0.1-2% of fine particles of high melting point metal oxide such as Y.sub.2 O.sub.3 dispersed in the austenite matrix. The alloy exhibits excellent properties of anti-hot deformation, oxidation resistance, abrasion resistance and thermal shock resistance.

Skid rail alloy

A Ti-Al type lightweight heat-resistant consists essentially of 32 to 36% w of Al, 0.1 to 2.0% w of Si, 0.1 to 5.0% w of Nb, 0.1 to 3.0% w of Cr, and optionally 0.005 to 0.200% w of B, the balance being substantially Ti. The alloy has improved oxidation resistance together with excellent ductility and strength at room temperature and high temperature.

Ti-Al type lightweight heat-resistant materials containing Nb, Cr and Si

Improvement of Nb-alloys, which are known as heat-resistant alloys, by giving anti-oxidation property thereto and increasing the high temperature strength thereof. In addition to a determined amount of Al, one of (1) suitable amounts of Ti, Cr and V, and (2) suitable amounts of Cr and Co, are added to Nb-matrix, and a high melting temperature metal oxide such as Y.sub.2 O.sub.3 or Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 is dispersed in the matrix. Preferable method of preparing the alloys is combination of mechanical alloying and subsequent hot processing.

Oxide-dispersion-strengthened niobum-based alloys and process for

A heat resisting bearing steel having improved rolling fatigue life is disclosed. This steel consists essentially of 0.6-0.9% C, up to 0.5% Si, up to 0.5% Mn, 3.0-5.5% Cr, 3.0-5.0% Mo and 0.5-1.5% V, and the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities, and is characterized in that the content of large Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 inclusions with 10 micron or larger length is restricted to 1.5 ppm or less. The rolling fatigue life of this steel is long and fluctuation of the life is small, and therefore, the steel is highly reliable. It is suitable for the material of bearing to be used at a high peripheral speed and a high temperature such as the main rotational bearings of a heat engine such as a gas turbine.

Heat resisting bearing steel

A high-strength steel for valve springs, consisting of 0.50-0.70 wt. % of carbon, 1.50-2.50 wt. % of silicon, 0.50-1.20 wt. % of manganese, 1.50-2.50 wt. % of nickel, 0.50-1.00 wt. % of chromium, 0.20-0.50 wt. % of molybdenum, 0.15-0.25 wt. % of vanadium, and the balance being iron and inevitably included inclusions. Also disclosed is a process for producing such a high-strength steel, which includes a step of minimizing oxygen in a melt of the steel, so as to reduce the oxygen content of the steel to 15 ppm or less, and a step of adding calcium to the melt and thereby controlling the form of the inclusions. The process may further includes a step of minimizing titanium and nitrogen in the melt, so as to reduce the titanium and nitrogen content of the steel to 50 ppm or less, and 60 ppm or less, respectively.

Process for producing steel for valve springs

A high-strength steel for valve springs, consisting of 0.50-0.70 wt. % of carbon, 1.50-2.50 wt. % of silicon, 0.50-1.20 wt. % of manganese, 1.50-2.50 wt. % of nickel, 0.50-1.00 wt. % of chromium, 0.20.0.50 wt. % of molybdenum, 0.15-0.25 wt. % of vanadium, and the balance being iron and inevitably included inclusions.
