An ultrasound treatment system comprises an ultrasonic transducer, a handpiece, a probe, a sheath, a clamping member, an operation unit, an operating member, a suction base, and a perfusion base. The ultrasonic transducer generates ultrasonic vibrations. The handpiece has the ultrasonic transducer incorporated therein. The probe is connected to the ultrasonic transducer for transmitting ultrasonic vibrations to a distal member realizing a stationary portion that is a treatment portion for treating a living tissue. The sheath serves as a protecting member for shielding the probe. The clamping member is opposed to the distal member at the distal end of the sheath for clamping a living tissue in cooperation with the distal member. The operation unit is manipulated for clamping a living tissue with the clamping member and distal member or freeing the living tissue therefrom.

Ultrasound treatment system

In a treating apparatus, a forceps body as a treating device is connected to a generator as a control device. The forceps body mainly includes a pair of handle portions, which are used for manipulation by being held by an operator, a pair of jaws provided between the handle portion and the pair of jaws, which are used to coagulate/resect by grasping living-body tissue to be treated and a pair of scissors component members. A heating member, which is a heat generating source as a heat generating portion for applying heat energy to living-body tissue, is embedded at least one of the jaws. A pair of electrode portions, which is a treating energy generator, is provided to the pair of jaws. By supplying bipolar electric surgical knife current between the pair of electrode portions, high frequency current as treating energy is applied to the grasped living-body tissue.

Treating apparatus and treating device for treating living-body tissue

An ultrasound treatment system in accordance with the present invention comprises an ultrasonic transducer, a handpiece, a probe, a sheath, a clamping member, an operation unit, an operating member, a suction base, and a perfusion base. The ultrasonic transducer generates ultrasonic vibrations. The handpiece has the ultrasonic transducer incorporated therein and serves as an operation unit. The probe is connected to the ultrasonic transducer, and serves as a vibration transmitting member for transmitting ultrasonic vibrations to a distal member realizing a stationary portion that is a treatment portion for treating a living tissue. The sheath serves as a protecting member for shielding the probe. The clamping member is opposed to the distal member at the distal end of the sheath, and realizes a movable portion that is another treatment portion for clamping a living tissue in cooperation with the distal member. The operation unit is manipulated for clamping a living tissue with the clamping member and distal member or freeing the living tissue therefrom.

An ultrasonic surgical system enables connection of a hand switch as well as a foot switch, which is used to operate a driving signal generator, without the necessity of retrofitting a main unit including the driving signal generator used to drive an ultrasonic transducer incorporated in a connected handpiece. An extension unit is included for connecting the foot switch and hand switch to the main unit. The foot switch and hand switch are connected to the main unit via the extension unit.

Ultrasonic surgical system

An ultrasonic lithotripter comprising a first transmission probe which has a hollow portion in the form of a through hole and transmits ultrasonic vibration and a superfine second transmission probe which can be passed through the hollow portion of the first transmission probe. An object of manipulation is held by means of the second transmission probe as it is manipulated by means of the first transmission probe.

Calculus manipulation apparatus

An endoscopic lithotripsy probe apparatus includes a probe, ultrasonic-vibration source, mechanical shock generation source, and switch-mechanism. The ultrasonic-vibration source is detachably attached to the probe to transmit an ultrasonic-vibration to the probe in a state in which the proximal end of the probe is connected to the ultrasonic-vibration source. The mechanical shock generation source, which is disposed on the side of the proximal end of the probe, applies a force to the ultrasonic-vibration source in a state in which the ultrasonic-vibration source is detached from the proximal end of the probe, and allows the ultrasonic-vibration source to collide with the proximal end of the probe so that a mechanical shock is applied to the probe. The switch-mechanism switches a state in which the ultrasonic-vibration from the ultrasonic-vibration source is transmitted to the probe and a state in which the mechanical shock from the mechanical shock generation source is transmitted.

Endoscopic lithotripsy apparatus and lithotripsy method of treatment object using the apparatus

An ultrasonic driving apparatus consists mainly of a digital oscillatory circuit, an amplifier, a detection circuit, a phase difference detection circuit, a register, a data transfer circuit, and a switching circuit. The digital oscillatory circuit is used to drive an ultrasonic transducer at the resonance frequency of the ultrasonic transducer. The amplifier amplifies a driving signal output from the digital oscillatory circuit. The detection circuit detects the phase &#x3b8;v of an applied voltage and the phase &#x3b8;i of an induced current from the driving signal applied to the ultrasonic transducer via the amplifier. The phase difference detection circuit detects a difference between the phases &#x3b8;v and &#x3b8;i. The register holds digital frequency data with which a frequency at which the digital oscillatory circuit is oscillated is determined, and changes the digital frequency data. The data transfer circuit transfers the digital frequency data to the register. The switching circuit is interposed between the phase difference detection circuit and register.

Ultrasonic operation apparatus for performing follow-up control of resonance frequency drive of ultrasonic oscillator by digital PLL system using DDS (direct digital synthesizer)

An ultrasonic calculus treatment apparatus includes a longitudinal-vibration piezoelectric oscillator for vibrating in the axial direction of an ultrasonic transmitting member and a torsional-vibration piezoelectric oscillator for vibrating about the axial direction, and further includes driving circuits for driving the piezoelectric oscillators at respective resonance frequencies and a mode selection switch for permitting the oscillators to vibrate independently or in combination, so that lithotripsy can be performed effectively in accordance with the size of a calculus or a function of an operating tool.

Ultrasonic calculus treatment apparatus

A plurality of handpieces used to perform an operation is connected to a main operation apparatus, which generates a driving signal, through connectors formed on the main apparatus. When an operator holds a handpiece he/she wants to use, an output line over which the driving signal is transmitted is routed to the held handpiece owing to an output of a sensor that detects a change in capacitance stemming from the hold. The operator therefore need not manually set a mode in which the driving signal is applied to the handpiece he/she wants to use. Moreover, a port number assigned to a port to which the output line is routed is indicated on a display device. The operator can readily identify the usable handpiece.

Surgical operation system

An ultrasonic operation system includes a handpiece having an ultrasonic transducer, which treats a living tissue using ultrasonic oscillations. The system includes a driving signal oscillator for producing a driving signal for driving the ultrasonic transducer and supplying the driving signal to the handpiece; a sweep circuit for sweeping a frequency of the driving signal; a data transfer circuit for transferring start frequency data to the sweep circuit to start sweeping the frequency of the driving signal; a detection circuit for detecting a resonance frequency of the handpiece based on the driving signal of which the frequency has been swept by the sweep circuit; and a chase lock loop (PLL) circuit for locking the frequency of an output current onto the resonance frequency; and, a switch for switching between the PLL circuit and the sweep circuit according to a detection result from the detection circuit.

An ultrasonic operation system includes: a transmission cable that is connected detachably, through a connector, to a connector receptacle in a main apparatus unit; plural types of transducers provided with a connector receptacle each capable of detachably connecting the connector of the transmission cable, an identification element for outputting its own identification signal, and a ultrasonic vibrator, correspondingly; and a main apparatus unit for receiving the identification signals in an identification circuit, automatically controlling drive signals that a control circuit causes a drive signal generator unit to generate, and automatically displaying the identified instrument on a control-display unit.

Ultrasonic operation system

A medical treatment system has medical treatment equipment and a control device that controls the operation of this medical treatment equipment. The medical treatment equipment has an operation control section that controls operation of a therapeutic instrument connected to the medical treatment equipment with respect to a selected single function thereof. The control device is constructed including a hand switch and foot switch. This hand switch and foot switch are provided with mode input sections. Also, the foot switch has an operating switch. The control device is constituted by a selection section that recognizes and selects an operating mode of the items of the medical treatment equipment in accordance with an operating mode signal from a mode input section of the hand switch or foot switch, a switchover section that is switched over such that an on/off signal from the operating switch of the foot switch is transmitted to the items of the medical treatment equipment selected by this selection section, and a display data generating section that generates display data for displaying on a monitor, using as an input signal the on/off condition of the operating switch of the foot switch or the operating mode of the item of the medical treatment equipment selected at the selection section.

Medical treatment system

An ultrasound treatment system in accordance with the present invention comprises an ultrasonic transducer, a handpiece, a probe, a sheath, a clamping member, an operation unit, an operating member, a suction base, and a perfusion base. The ultrasonic transducer generates ultrasonic vibrations. The handpiece has the ultrasonic transducer incorporated therein and serves as an operation unit. The probe is connected to the ultrasonic transducer, and serves as a vibration transmitting member for transmitting ultrasonic vibrations to a distal member realizing a stationary portion that is a treatment portion for treating a living tissue. The sheath serves as a protecting member for shielding the probe. The clamping member is opposed to the distal member at the distal end of the sheath, and realizes a movable portion that is another treatment portion for clamping a living tissue in cooperation with the distal member. The operation unit is manipulated for clamping a living tissue with the clamping member and distal member or freeing the living tissue therefrom. The operating member drives the clamping member responsively to a manipulation performed on the operation unit. The suction base is formed on the back end of the handpiece, and communicating with a through hole bored substantially along the center axes of the probe and ultrasonic transducer. The perfusion base is formed on the outer circumference of the handpiece and communicating with the lamen of the sheath.

A surgical instrument can be disinfected or sterilized, and has a rechargeable secondary battery incorporated therein. A distal treatment section of the surgical instrument is ultrasonically oscillated or otherwise activated using the secondary battery as a driving power source to perform surgery on a living tissue. Electromagnetic energy generated by an energy generation unit located outside the surgical instrument is received by a reception coil incorporated in the surgical instrument with the surgical instrument by induction from the energy generation unit. The electromagnetic energy is then converted into charging power with which the secondary battery is recharged. Thus, the surgical instrument can be readily recharged without compromising sterility.
