A vehicle control apparatus is applied to a vehicle including an engine as traveling drive source and a clutch device in a power transmission path connected to an output shaft of the engine. The vehicle control apparatus causes the vehicle to be in a coasting state by reducing power transmitted in the path by clutch device operation upon satisfaction of a predetermined implementation condition, and cancels coasting state by clutch device operation upon satisfaction of a predetermined coasting cancellation condition including at least an accelerator condition during coasting. The vehicle control apparatus includes a travel determination section determining coasting state of the vehicle, and a clutch control section performing half-clutch control during coasting at least at one of at the beginning of coasting and immediately before coasting is cancelled, the half-clutch control setting a degree of clutch device engagement to an intermediate degree.

Vehicle control apparatus

A control apparatus is used in an onboard system provided to a vehicle. The onboard system includes an internal combustion engine and a power generator. The power generator generates power and supplies the generated power to an electrical load provided to the vehicle. An output torque of the internal combustion engine causes the vehicle to travel and causes the power generator to generate power. Based on a power supply request by the electrical load, the control apparatus controls the output torque of the internal combustion engine. In response to the output torque being increased based on the power supply request, the control apparatus causes the power generator to generate the power by the output torque, while restricting generated power during an initial period when the output torque is being increased.

Control apparatus and onboard system

A restart control device is applied to a vehicle which is provided with an internal combustion engine, an electric motor, a driving wheel, and a clutch. The restart control device has a restart-condition determining portion which determines whether a restart condition for restarting the internal combustion engine is established while the vehicle is coasting; a push-start portion which starts the internal combustion engine by a push-start; a start-up portion which starts the internal combustion engine by use of an electric motor; and a doubly start-up portion which tries to start the internal combustion engine by one of the push-start portion and the start-up portion when the restart-condition determining portion determines that the restart condition is established. The doubly start-up portion tries to start the internal combustion engine by another one of the push-up portion and the start-up portion when the internal combustion engine has not been started.

Restart control device for internal combustion engine

In a control circuit for controlling a power converter that includes a switch, a power supply circuit outputs electrical power, and a command generator generates a switching command that controls switching operations of the switch, based on the electrical power output from the power supply circuit. A failure mode determiner executes a determination of whether which of failure modes has occurred in the power supply circuit, and outputs a result of the determination. A switch controller selectively executes, based on the result of the determination, a first switch control task and a second switch control task. The first switch control task forcibly shuts down the switch independently of the switching command, and the second switch control task enables the switching operations of the switch to be continuously controlled based on the switching command.

Control circuit for power converter

A vehicle control apparatus includes a condition determination section that determines whether or not an execution permission condition to permit coasting of a vehicle is satisfied, a first control section that causes the vehicle to shift to a first inertia running state by stopping the engine and disengaging the clutch device when the execution permission condition is determined to be satisfied, an auxiliary drive request determination section that determines whether or not an auxiliary drive request to drive the auxiliary has occurred, and a second control section that causes the vehicle to shift to a second inertia running state by starting the engine keeping the clutch device disengaged when the auxiliary drive request is determined to have occurred while the vehicle is running in the first inertia running state.

A load-driving circuit supplies electric current to a load, such as a resistor of an airbag squib. The load-driving circuit includes high side and low side current control circuits, both connected in series. Each current control circuit is composed of a driving transistor, a resistor and a current mirror circuit for controlling operation of the driving transistor. The components in the load-driving circuit are positioned in an integrated circuit chip to generate different temperature gradients among the components. For example, the low side resistor is positioned close to the high side driving transistor, so that the low side resistor is heated by the high side driving transistor controlled under a constant current control. As the low side resistor is heated, the high side driving transistor is switched from the constant current control to a full-on control. In this manner, controls of both driving transistors are automatically switched thereby to avoid overheating of one of the driving transistors.
