It is an object of the present invention to provide an inkjet head and its manufacturing method, which may realize a high resolution while maintaining at a desired strength those walls which define a plurality of ink supply channels between the common ink chamber and each pressure chamber, and securing the adhesion areas on these walls. The inkjet head is miniaturized in a direction in which the pressure chambers are arranged, by arranging a plurality of ink supply channels that are connected to each pressure chamber perpendicular to the direction in which the pressure chambers are arranged.

A cleanerless image forming apparatus and a cleanerless image forming method facilitate the collection of residual toners after image transfer. The image forming apparatus includes a rotary endless latent carrier, a rotary charging brush for charging the rotary endless latent carrier, and a unit for forming an electrostatic latent image on the rotary endless latent carrier. The electrostatic latent image is developed on the rotary endless latent carrier by supplying polymerization toners simultaneously with the cleaning of residual polymerization toners therefrom. The polymerization toners on the rotary endless latent carrier are then transferred to a sheet. The image forming method has a first operation of charging a rotary endless latent carrier; a second operation of forming an electrostatic latent image on the rotary endless latent carrier; a third operation of developing the electrostatic latent image on the rotary endless latent carrier by supplying polymerization toners simultaneously with cleaning residual polymerization toners therefrom; and a fourth operation of transferring the polymerization toners on the rotary endless latent carrier to a sheet.

Cleanerless image forming method and system therefor

Disclosed is a method of driving a piezo-electric type ink jet head for jetting inks out of a nozzle by making use of a distortion of a piezo-electric element. The driving method includes a first step of driving the piezo-electric element so that a meniscus of inks is receded from an initial position of the nozzle to a first position within the nozzle, a second step of driving the piezo-electric element so that the meniscus quickly advances from the first position to a second position within the nozzle, and a third step of driving the piezo-electric element so that the meniscus slowly advances from the second position to the initial position. A particle quantity of ink particles is changed by changing a movement quantity from the first position to the second position in the second step.

An ink cartridge connectable to a print head having a supply pipe which receives a supply of ink includes a casing having a first, upper chamber and a second, lower chamber communicating with each other via a communicating hole and storing the ink, a porous body provided in the first chamber and storing the ink by a negative pressure, and a connection part provided in the second chamber and connectable to the supply pipe. The connection part has normally closed valve means for communicating the print head with the second chamber by opening when the supply pipe is inserted into the connection part. The ink cartridge includes a connecting pipe extending from the first chamber into the second chamber and a filter member covering the opening of the connecting pipe in the second chamber. The filter member releases air from the connecting pipe upwardly into an upper region of the second chamber.

An image forming apparatus, such as a laser printer, ink jet printer, or a thermal transfer, which comprises a neural network. The apparatus improves image quality by reducing a zigzag included, e.g., in input image data, reducing the circuit size by reducing the number of bits having small weights for an input combination, and concurrently correcting the size of center, left and right picture elements in a predetermined window. The neural network outputs correction data for the size and position of the center dot in a window in response to an input of dot image data in a window or subdot pattern exposure data for the center dot. Additionally, the neural network uses any of the three values, +1, -1 and 0, for the coefficient of input combination for a hidden layer neuron, e.g., after a teacher pattern is learned. Further, the neural network outputs correction data for 3.times.N subblocks of picture elements obtained by dividing blocks of picture elements in the center, left and right of a window.

Image forming apparatus

Disclosed is a slim printing apparatus which employs a latent image forming method, such as electrophotographing method, and needs an apparatus-occupying area. This printing apparatus comprises a hopper for retaining sheets; a feeding path defined on that surface of the apparatus which is opposite to that surface of the apparatus where the hopper is disposed for conveyance of sheets; a feeding mechanism for feeding a sheet from the hopper onto the feeding path; an endless rotary latent image carrier provided between the hopper and the feeding path; an image forming unit, provided between the hopper and the feeding path, for forming a toner image on the latent image carrier; a transfer unit for transferring the toner image on the latent image carrier onto the sheet conveyed along the feeding path; and a fixing unit for fixing the toner image on the sheet.

In a thermal printer which conducts recording by heating heat generating elements with a drive signal, the temperature of the heat generating elements, after a specified period for the start of a thermal recording signal can be returned to a constant value, by applying during the normal cooling process, that is, after application of a thermal recording signal, a predetermined auxiliary pulse corresponding to the temperature that is generated during the thermal recording and to the tone to be recorded.

A timing pulse generator for producing timing pulses the period of which is variable. In the timing pulse generator, a plurality of reference pulse trains are produced which have the same frequency as each other, but different phases from each other.
