Liquid sample measurement device, liquid sample measurement method, and biosensor

Provided is a blood component measuring device or the like that can further suppress the measurement error of a blood component. The device detects an oxidation-reduction current generated by oxidation-reduction when a first voltage is applied to a first electrode pairof a biosensor, and converts the oxidation-reduction current (glucose response value) into a glucose conversion value. The device detects a current generated when a second voltage is applied to a second electrode pairof the biosensor, and converts the detected current (blood cell amount response value) into a blood cell amount conversion value. The glucose response value is measured more than once and the blood cell amount response value is also measured more than once within a predetermined period after the introduction of the blood into the biosensor. A CPUcorrects the glucose conversion value measured within the predetermined period based on at least a part of a plurality of glucose conversion values and a plurality of blood cell amount conversion values obtained from the results of measurement.

Provided are a blood component measurement device and the like capable of further suppressing the errors in measuring blood components. A first current value that is generated by oxidation-reduction when a first voltage is applied to a first electrode paircomposing a biosensoris measured, a second current value that is generated when a second voltage is applied to a second electrode paircomposing the biosensoris measured, and then the first current and the second current are converted to give a blood component amount. Within a predetermined period after the introduction of blood into the biosensor, the first current is measured multiple times and the second current is measured once. A CPUconverts a plurality of first current values and the second current value to obtain a plurality of blood component amounts and calculates the blood component amount for the blood introduced into the biosensorfrom said plurality of blood component amounts.

Provided is a method for measuring a blood component amount that can sufficiently and properly correct the blood component amount by measuring an Hct value with high accuracy and high reliability, and a sensor and a measuring device that are used in the method. A method for measuring a blood component amount uses a biosensor to calculate a blood component amount in blood. The biosensor includes the following: a first electrode system having a first working electrode and a first counter electrode; a second electrode system having a second working electrode and a second counter electrode; and a reagent portion arranged in a form that covers at least a part of the first electrode system, but does not cover the second working electrode. The method includes the following: a first step of detecting a first current value that flows through the first electrode system and calculating an apparent blood component amount in the blood based on the first current value, during a period in which a first voltage is applied to the first electrode system and a second voltage is applied to the second electrode system while the first voltage is being applied; followed by a second step of stopping the application of the first voltage to the first electrode system, applying a third voltage to the second electrode system, and detecting a second current value; and a step of calculating a true blood component amount using the apparent blood component amount and the second current value.

Provided is a measuring chip, which can spot a specimen liquid of a minute quantity for an immune agglutination easily and precisely to the measuring chip and which can prevent the flow of the specimen liquid and the contamination of the specimen. The measuring chip comprises at least two substrates, a spacer arranged between the substrates, at least one passage made of the substrates and the spacer into a hollow shape and having two open ends, counter electrodes for applying an electric field, and a specimen-spotted portion to be spotted with the specimen. The specimen-spotted portion has a structure made of a square, circular, elliptical or sector shape by that spacer. Moreover, the specimen-spotted portion has two open ends, one of which is connected to one open end of that passage.

Measuring chip

A substrate having a channel portion in which a liquid transfers, wherein, even if the channel portion has no micro-channel interconnecting chambers, a liquid can transfer stepwise from one region to the next region according to the speed of rotation of the substrate. The substrate can be rotated about a rotation axis as the center, and has the channel portion including the chambers formed therein. The inner wall of each chamber has a first area including an area intersecting with a centrifugal direction from the center; and also has a second area placed at a position farther from the center than the first area, and including a surface intersecting with the centrifugal direction from the center. Further, the first area has a region for holding a droplet of a liquid provided; and also has a region where a contact with the droplet expands when the substrate is rotated, and that communicate with the second area.

The reagent chamber has a form which allows a plurality of the solid reagents to be disposed in the direction substantially parallel to the radial direction of the disc in which centrifugal force is generated, or in the direction substantially perpendicular to the radial direction of the disc.

To provide an improved biosensor which allows easy addition of whole blood to the sensor and rapid supply of the added whole blood to a filter even in the case of collecting blood by fingertip centesis for measurement, a second air aperture is provided in a sample solution supply pathway including an electrode system and a reaction layer and communicating with a first air aperture on the terminal end side.
