An integrated pump device includes a motor, an oil pump rotated by a driving force of the motor and configured to discharge oil drawn from an oil pan, and a hydraulic actuator configured to switch between an advance state and a retard state by a hydraulic pressure created by the oil pump. The hydraulic actuator is a parking lock actuator, and includes a housing having vane chambers and a vane rotor housed in the housing and including vanes arranged in the vane chambers. The vane rotor is configured to rotate to enter the advance state when the hydraulic pressure is supplied to an advance chamber, and to rotate to enter the retard state when the hydraulic pressure is supplied to a retard chamber. The parking lock actuator locks a parking lock mechanism at the advance state, and unlocks the parking lock mechanism at the retard state.

A fuel injection system for automotive diesel engine is provided which is equipped with a fuel pressure sensor working to measure the pressure of fuel in an accumulator and a pressure-reducing valve working to drain the fuel from the accumulator. The system is designed to ensure enhanced reliability of diagnosis of the pressure-reducing valve. The system works to make a temporal diagnosis of the pressure-reducing valve based on the behavior of the pressure in the accumulator upon opening of the pressure-reducing valve after an ignition switch is turned off. After elapse of a given period of time, when it is determined that a value of the pressure in the accumulator, as measured by the fuel pressure sensor, lies near the atmospheric pressure, the system determines that the fuel pressure sensor is operating properly and fixes the temporal diagnosis of the pressure-reducing valve ultimately.

An engine controller controls an injection quantity or intake airflow supplied to a cylinder of an engine. Constant associated with e running resistance of the vehicle are reconfigured according to vehicle specifications when a change is made to the vehicle specifications. A target acceleration is determined from the accelerator operation amount. An acceleration resistance is determined using the target acceleration and a constant based on the vehicle weight. At least an air resistance and a rolling resistance are added to the acceleration resistance to determine a running resistance for accelerating or decelerating the vehicle at the target acceleration. A driving wheel torque is determined using the running resistance and a constant based on the effective tire radius. An engine output shaft torque equivalent to a driver-requested torque is determined using the driving wheel torque and a constant based on the final gear ratio.
