A signal transmission device includes a first antenna, a second antenna, a demodulation device, and a fixing member. The first antenna transmits radio waves containing a signal modulated at a first frequency. The second antenna receives the radio waves containing the signal via a medium. The demodulation device demodulates the signal and connected to the second antenna. The fixing member fixes the first antenna and the second antenna to the medium.

A wireless communication device includes a housing, a substrate provided inside the housing, an antenna provided on the substrate, a switching unit configured to switch directivity of the antenna between a first state and a second state, a detection unit configured to detect switching of the switching unit, and an output unit configured to output a detection result of the detection unit.

A wireless communication device includes a housing, an antenna, a metal plate, a sensor and a controller. The antenna placed within the housing. The metal plate is detachably placed in the housing. The metal plate is higher in electric conductivity than the housing and has a surface facing the antenna when the metal plate is placed in the housing. The sensor is configured to sense placement of the metal plate. The controller is configured to receive a result of sensing detected by the sensor.

Provided is a lower-profile multi-band antenna. According to one embodiment of the present invention, there is provided an antenna including a linear first antenna portion, a conductive portion that connects the first antenna portion with a power feeding point, grounding regions where opposite ends of the first antenna portion are short-circuited and grounded, and a second antenna portion, at least a part of which overlaps with the conductive portion with a dielectric substance interposed between the conductive portion and the second antenna portion. The second antenna portion is disposed in a region surrounded by the grounding regions and the first antenna portion. The conductive portion may be connected to the first antenna portion at a middle point between the opposite ends of the first antenna portion.

A wireless communication device includes a housing, a substrate provided inside the housing, an antenna provided on the substrate, a metal plate removably attached onto the housing, having reflectance higher than reflectance of the housing, and having an opposing surface opposing the substrate when attached onto the housing, a detection unit that detects attachment of the metal plate, and an output unit that outputs a detection result of the detection unit.
