A display device includes a lower frame arranged on a side opposite to a display surface of a display panel. The lower frame includes a bottom wall portion, and a side wall portion that is formed so as to surround the bottom wall portion at an edge thereof. The display device also includes a plurality of light sources arranged along the side wall portion of the lower frame and a heat sink configured to dissipate heat generated from the plurality of light sources. The heat sink includes a plurality of groove portions that are formed along the bottom wall portion in a direction extending from the plurality of light sources.

Provided is a liquid crystal display device, including: a liquid crystal panel including a display region for displaying an image; a linear illuminator disposed below the display region and extending linearly; and a diffusion plate disposed between the liquid crystal panel and the linear illuminator, in which the diffusion plate includes a thick portion which is formed to be thicker than another portion located below the display region, and the thick portion is formed opposing to the linear illuminator.

Water running on a flat cable (), which connects together a control circuit board () provided on a rear surface of a liquid crystal module () and a source driver board () arranged on a lower surface of the liquid crystal module, is prevented from entering the source driver board (). A source driver board () is arranged on a lower surface of a mold frame () supporting a lower edge of a liquid crystal module (). A flat cable () passes through a gap between a board cover () and a rear end surface () of the mold frame (). A water absorbing member () adhered to the rear end surface () is applied to the flat cable ().

A liquid crystal display device capable of efficiently obtaining a high brightness with reduced unevenness in brightness using a single light-emitting section is provided. The liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal panel for controlling display by changing orientation of a liquid crystal composition; a single cylindrical light-source section (); and a reflecting section () provided so that the single cylindrical light-source section is sandwiched between the reflecting section and the liquid crystal panel, for reflecting the light emitted from the single cylindrical light-source section () toward the liquid crystal panel, in which at least a part of a sectional shape of a reflecting surface of the reflecting section () in a cross section perpendicular to an axial direction of the single cylindrical light-source section () is formed based on a parabola whose focal point is a position of the single cylindrical light source section ().

A display device of the invention is provided with: a display panel; a lower frame that covers the lower side of the display panel, and includes a front wall and a bottom wall; a drain hole formed to the bottom wall; and a water-absorbing porous member provided to the inner surface of the bottom wall in such a manner as to cover the drain hole. With such a configuration, the resulting display device can swiftly drain any liquid entering inside thereof.
