A jaw exchanger includes a stocker configured to store jaws which are configured to be attached to a chuck body of a machine tool, a stocker movement mechanism configured to move the stocker between a first position and a second position, and a jaw transferor configured to transfer the jaws to the stocker positioned at the first position from a jaw receiver to receive the jaws, and configured to transfer the jaws to the chuck body from the stocker positioned at the second position. The chuck body is rotatable about a rotation axis.

The invention provides a machining center having a first main spindle unit and also a second main spindle unit with a ram shaft attached to a vertical machining center. A machining centercomprises a rotary tablethat moves in the direction of an X-axis on a bed, and a cross railsupported by a columnand moving in the direction of a Z-axis. A first main spindle unitis attached to a saddlesupported by the cross rail and moving in the direction of a Y-axis. The first main spindle unitis equipped with a first main spindlethat rotates around a B-axis. A second main spindle unitdisposed between the first main spindle unitand the saddleis equipped with a ram shaftthat moves in the direction of a W-axis and a turning head or a milling head that is replaceably attached to the leading end of the ram shaft.
