A hemadynamometer has an air bag designed for attaining oppression or ischemia of radial artery only without oppressing ulnar artery, with a length of the bag made, when the bag is wound on a user's wrist on its radial side starting from such hard organization area as tendons on palm side of the wrist through the radial artery, to reach at least styloid process of radius but not to reach the ulnar artery, and with a width set for locally oppressing the radial artery at least substantially right above the styloid process of radius in longitudinal direction of the wrist.

Hemadynamometer

An improved portable battery powered therapy applicator which applies a high frequency electromagnetic field to a living tissue for promoting hematogenous effects. The applicator is in use to be attached to the skin of a patient and has a casing encapsulating therein, in addition to the battery, an antenna for directing the high electromagnetic field and electronic components forming an oscillator which energizes the antenna. These parts are mounted on a substrate which is made of a rigid material sufficient to resist deflection or deformation in order to protect the antenna on the substrate from deforming or receiving considerable stress at the time of detaching the applicator from the skin. Thus, the antenna can be kept free from breaking even through repeated operations of detaching the applicator, greatly enhancing reliability and prolong an operation life of the applicator.

An easy adaptable sphygmomanometer having display means for indication of the user's blood pressure is disclosed herein. The sphygmomanometer comprises a main body having thereon the display means, an arm engageable resilient retainer connected to the underside of the main body for retaining such main body in positive arm engaging disposition on a single arm of the user, and a wrap-around cuff carried by the retainer and provided with an inflatable bag which extends along the interior circumference of the retainer. The arm engaging resilient retainer is curved to be arcuate in cross section so as to insure a friction fit engagement with the arm, whereby the main body can be retained in place until the final or complete fitting of the cuff around the arm of the user. Accordingly, the display means on the main body will not require any further adjustment of its position and can be kept at a prominent position to be easily observed by the user oneself, rendering the instrument ready for measuring the user's own blood pressure.

Sphygmomanometer

A liquid sprayer comprises an ultrasonic vibrator, a liquid supply chamber, and a liquid absorber for absorbing liquid from the liquid supply chamber and feeding it to the ultrasonic vibrator. The liquid absorber abuts against the lateral side of the utmost end of the ultrasonic vibrator in the vibration direction thereof and projects at the front surface thereof ahead of the utmost end of the ultrasonic vibrator.

Liquid sprayer

Apparatus is described for measuring both the systolic and diastolic blood pressure of an individual. A pressurable cuff having an additional tightening band for advantageously positioning a cuff and microphone on an artery is described. The microphone is connected to first the second filters having respective passbands for analyzing the frequency content for recovered pulse signals. The apparatus provides for automatic pressurizing and depressurizing of the cuff whereby the artery is occluded and opened to permit passage of the blood flow. The pressure at the time of receipt of signals from the filters is measured as the systolic pressure. The diastolic blood pressure is measured with apparatus in accordance with the invention by monitoring signals from one of the filters.

Blood pressure measuring apparatus

A hair curler comprising an elongated substantially hollow hair bobbin includes a PTC heating element having a temperature self-controlling function housed within the hair bobbin. A pair of opposed cup-shaped generally cylindrical members are housed within the bobbin with each cylindrical member including a bottom and a side wall. The heating element is held between the opposed bottoms of the cup-shaped members. Each of the bottoms of the cup-shaped members defines an electrode plate arranged in contact with a respective side of the heating element for transmitting electricity to the heating element and conducting heat from the heating element to the side wall of the respective member. The side wall of each member defines conductors for transmitting the heat to the ends of the hair bobbin. A power supplying pin includes first and second power supplying terminals which are connected to a respective one of the electrode plates. The power supplying pin further includes an insulator interposed between the terminals. One end of the power supplying pin extends in one direction through the heating element and both electrode plates for fastening the heating element and the electrode plates together. Another end of the pin extends in an opposite direction along a longitudinal axis of the hair bobbin toward an open end of the bobbin. The power supplying pin is accessible through the open end of the bobbin and is adapted to be connected to a power source.
