A connector which enables effective use of the space on a circuit board effectively, and facilitates impedance matching between contacts. The connector is comprised of a first connector section () and a second connector section (). A receiving hole () is formed in a first housing () of the first connector section (), for receiving and holding a terminal section () of a first function expansion card (). A plurality of contacts () are arranged in the first housing (), for electrically connecting the first function expansion card () to a printed wiring board (). A first locking device () is disposed in the first housing (), for locking a rear end of a second function expansion card (). Connector

In a connector adapted to be mounted on a connection object for connection to a mating connector, the connector includes contacts each of which has a contact portion placed on a contact portion side of the connector for connection to the mating connector and a terminal portion placed on a terminal portion side for connection to the connection object. The contacts have a plurality of signal contact members and a plurality of ground contact members. The signal contact members make a plurality of pairs. The ground contact members are arranged with spaces left therebetween. On the contact portion side, the pairs of the signal contact members are placed in the spaces, respectively. On the terminal portion side, the signal contact members and the ground contact members are separately arranged on parallel rows and the pairs of the signal contact members face the spaces, respectively.

In a card fitting mechanism for receiving a card fitted thereto, a plurality of card receiving portions are arranged parallel to one another. Each of the card receiving portions is adapted to receive the card. A guiding member is disposed between adjacent ones of the card receiving portions so as to enter into adjacent ones of the card receiving portions. When the card is inserted in only one of the adjacent card receiving portions, the guiding member is moved by the card to serve as a guide for guiding the card that is inserted into another of the adjacent card receiving portions.

Connector having an increased reliability and improved operation properties

A part-packaging embossed tape includes a tape member on which a plurality of part-housing portions are arranged in succession in a longitudinal direction of the tape member. Each of the part-housing portions is arranged obliquely relative to a width direction of the tape member which is orthogonal to the longitudinal direction thereof. Recessed portions are further arranged around the part-housing portions, while maintaining given non-recessed spaces between the adjacent part-housing portions. With this arrangement, the embossed tape can be wound around a reel by bending the non-recessed spaces between the adjacent part-housing portions.
