An automated analysis instrument operates to detect inadequate dispensation of a fluidic substance on a tray. The instrument includes an image capturing device to capture an image of at least a portion of the tray including a receptacle portion and a surrounding portion around the receptacle portion. The instrument then identifies the surrounding portion of the at least the portion of the tray in the image, evaluates color components of the image corresponding to the surrounding portion of the at least the portion of the tray, and determines whether the fluidic substance is present on the surrounding portion of the at least the portion of the tray based on at least one of the color components.

According to one aspect, a substrate processing apparatus is provided. The substrate processing apparatus includes a table provided with a substrate holding surface for holding a substrate, a pad for processing the substrate held on the table, a head for holding the pad, an actuator for moving the head in a direction perpendicular to the substrate holding surface of the table, and a mechanical stopper device for stopping a movement of the head in the direction perpendicular to the substrate holding surface.

A reaction tank for causing a reaction for analyzing a specimen in a humidity-applied atmosphere in a storage vessel, includes a humidifying unit that includes a water reservoir reserving water and a humidifier releasing moisture of the water reservoir to an inside of the storage vessel, the humidifying unit humidifying the inside of the storage vessel, and a humidity detector that detects humidity inside the storage vessel. An operation of the humidifier of the humidifying unit is turned ON when the humidity inside the storage vessel becomes lower than a predetermined suitable humidity whereas the operation of the humidifier of the humidifying unit is turned OFF when the humidity inside the storage vessel exceeds the predetermined suitable humidity.

Reaction tank

A microplate in which a plurality of wells that are reaction vessels, in a substantially concave shape, to analyze components of a specimen are arranged in matrix, includes a first surface that passes through an opening plane of the wells; and a second surface that is directed to an opposite side to the first surface. The microplate also includes a well-identification information indicator that is arranged on the second surface included in a boundary portion between wells next to each other, and that indicates well identification information to identify each of the wells. The boundary portion between the wells next to each other has a thickness substantially equivalent to a depth of the wells.
