An inclination detecting device includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry is configured to detect, in image information that is an image of an object imaged by an imaging device at an imaging position where a background member forms a background, a first boundary between the background member and a shadow of the object; detect a second boundary between the object and the shadow of the object in the image information; and detect an inclination of the object in the image information from the first boundary and the second boundary detected by the processing circuitry.

A sheet reading apparatus includes a sheet table on which a sheet is placed, a conveyor configured to convey the sheet, a reading guide configured to guide the sheet conveyed by the conveyor, and a reading device configured to read a shadow of the sheet conveyed by the conveyor, for detection of an inclination of the sheet. An image processing apparatus includes circuitry to: obtain a read image read from an image of a document output from an image reading device; detect an edge between a background area and a document area in the read image; sample a detection result of the edge at each first interval in a first direction to extract a first boundary point group including a plurality of boundary points; sample the detection result of the edge at each second interval in the first direction to extract a second boundary point group including a plurality of boundary points; determine a noise removal condition based on the first boundary point group; remove, from the second boundary point group, a boundary point satisfying the noise removal condition as noise; and calculate a linear equation approximating the second boundary point group from which the noise is removed.

A small-sized distortion compensation circuit is disclosed. In a semi-conductor element having three terminals, its gate is used as an input terminal. One of the drain and source is used as an output terminal, and the other is grounded. This structure does not need a conventionally used circuit comprising a complicated combination of distributors, couplers and attenuators, enabling the circuit to be smaller.

Distortion compensation circuit

A current bias-type variable attenuator. Two PIN diodes are disposed in series to each other and in the forward direction on a bias current path. When a bias voltage is applied to a bias terminal, d.c. current flows in the order of a combination output port, an in-phase output port, a first PIN diode, an input port, a 900.degree.--delayed phase output port, and a second PIN diode, or in the order of the combination output port, the in-phase output port, the first PIN diode, the second PIN diode, the 900.degree.--delayed phase output port, and the input port. Since d.c. current flowing through the first PIN diode and d.c. current flowing through the second PIN diode have an equal value, an RF resistance of the first PIN diode and that of the second PIN diode are balanced.

Variable attenuator

An FET amplifier circuit is provided capable of minimizing the phase change of signals which pass through the circuit. Further, an FET amplifier circuit is provided capable of protecting the circuit against the effects of over-amplitude input signals with the phase change minimized.
