Connector assembly ( ) includes internal and external connector housings ( ) matable with each other. The assembly includes a cam projection ( A) provided to one of the internal and external connector housings. The assembly includes a lever ( ) provided rotatably to another one of the internal and external connector housings. The lever defines a cam channel ( ) for guiding the cam projection therein to mate the internal and external connector housings with each other. The assembly includes a false-assembly preventing structure ( Ba, Bb S , S ) operative to prevent false-assembly of the internal and external connector housings at an initial mating. The lever is rotatable to push the cam projection to space the internal and external connector housings off.

Connector assembly

A connector housing has a lock arm for locking a terminal therein. The lock arm deflects in an complete insertion state of the terminal so that a spacer abuts against a side surface of the lock arm. The lock arm is formed with a projection which abuts the incompletely inserted terminal in the spacer advancing direction. The projection may be a plate piece elongated in the longitudinal direction of the lock to be pinched by a pair of a resilient contact plates of the terminal. Alternatively, the lock arm may have a protrusion engaging with an engagement hole formed in the connector housing. The protrusion is a rectangular plate extending from the fore end of the lock arm. An inclined guide surface continuous with the engagement hole may be provided in the connector housing. Alternatively, the connector housing may have an inner embossed wall positioned closely to the deflected lock arm to oppose to the spacer. A clearance between the embossed wall and the lock arm is determined within the elastic deflection limit of the lock arm.

Electrical connector having terminal incomplete insertion recognizing structure

A connector housing has a lock arm for locking a terminal therein. The lock arm deflects in an complete insertion state of the terminal so that a spacer abuts against a side surface of the lock arm. The lock arm is formed with a projection which abuts the incompletely inserted terminal in the spacer advancing direction. The projection may be a plate piece elongated in the longitudinal direction of the lock to be pinched by a pair of a resilient contact plates of the terminal. Alternatively, the lock arm may have a protrusion engaging with an engagement hole formed in the connector housing. The protrusion is a rectangular plate extending from the fore end of the lock arm. An inclined guide surface continuos with the engagement hole may be provided in the connector housing. Alternatively, the connector housing may have an inner embossed wall positioned closely to the deflected lock arm to oppose to the spacer. A clearance between the embossed wall and the lock arm is determined within the elastic deflection limit of the lock arm.

A connector apparatus includes: a male housing provided with a flexible engagement lance being engaged with the female terminal so as to prevent the female terminal from slipping out; a female housing provided with a flexible engagement lance being engaged with the male terminal so as to prevent the male terminal from slipping out; and a retainer. In the construction, the retainer is engaged in a regular engagement position with a male and a female connectors which are in the fitted state and is inserted into deflection spaces of the flexible engagement lances so as to prevent deflection thereof. When a male or female terminal is inserted into each of the terminal housing chambers incompletely and the male housing is fitted into the hood section halfway, the retainer prevents movement from a temporary engagement position to another regular engagement position.

Connector apparatus

A low insertion force connector including: a male connector portion including a male housing having side walls, cam protrusions formed on the side walls, respectively, and a plurality of first contacts insertable in the male housing; a female connector portion coupled with the male connector portion, the female connector portion including a female housing, and a plurality of second contacts insertable in the female housing a slider supported to be longitudinally slidable in the female housing, the slider including cam slots engageable with the cam protrusions to draw the male connector portion to the female connector portion in a connector fitting direction as the slider slides in the female housing, and an arcuate wall formed on an end wall of the slider, the arcuate wall having a spiral groove in an inner surface thereof; and a slide mechanism provided to control the slide of the slider in the female housing, the slide mechanism including a support shaft rotatably supported on an end wall of the female housing and longitudinally extended from the end wall, and an operation lever provided on a distal end of the support shaft, the operation lever including a boss portion having a propulsion protrusion for engaging with the spiral groove.

Low insertion force connector

A holder-containing type connector according to the present invention is composed in such a manner that it comprises a connector housing having a resilient locking lance for locking a terminal inserted therein, and a holder having a deflection prohibiting member which can move into a deflection absorbing space for allowing the resilient locking lance to deflect therein, and insertable into the connector housing, wherein the holder is composed of: a pair of mutually facing plates each having the deflection prohibiting member, which pair of plates being connected by a pair of resilient sections, and urged thereby in the direction parting from each other, and the connector housing comprises: a pair of first and second guide walls each abutting against an external surface of each of the pair of plates, wherein a distance between the pair of plates is made longer than that between the guide walls. The holder-containing connector with the above structure can realize a secure locking of the terminal in the connector housing, and also an easy and comfortable installation of the holder.
