An cylindrical convex portion of which opposite ends are open is integrally formed onto a fuel tank made of HDPE therewith so as to inwardly extend in the fuel tank to provide an opening thereon. A press-fit portion of a filler hose connecting pipe made of PA as a tubular member is press-fitted in the cylindrical convex portion to connecting the tubular member to the fuel tank. At least one continuous annular projection is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the press-fit portion of the tubular member so as to bite into the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical convex portion to provide continuous circumferential contact. A face of the annular projection in direction axially of one end of tubular member is formed so as to extend outwardly and inclinedly with respect to the axial direction of the tubular member form one end toward the other end thereof.

Structure for connecting tubular member to fuel tank

In a hose with a corrugated metal tube, an axial leading end portion of the corrugated metal tube is configured as an extending portion so as to extend in an axial direction beyond a base portion of a socket fitting and be exposed out of an outer layer of the hose. The extending portion is clamped by an inner end surface of the base portion and an outer surface of a rigid insert pipe.

A hose having a corrugated metal tube as the innermost layer and an outer layer including an inner elastic layer, a reinforced layer and an outer elastic layer. A socket fitting is swaged onto the hose body at three axially spaced points. The corrugated metal tube is provided with a flattened end portion. A proximal end of the flattened end portion extends for a minimum of 10 mm. axially away (in the direction of the complete corrugations) from the swaged point which is axially most proximate to the proximal end of the flattened end portion.

A tank joint part has a welding member welded to the outer surface of a fuel tank and a main body formed of a material of low fuel permeability and welded or otherwise joined to the welding member. The welding member is formed of modified polyethylene, which is easily weldable or otherwise joinable to the outer surface of the fuel tank and the main body, and in which very fine particles of a layered mineral are easily dispersible. The mineral is dispersed in layers oriented substantially at right angles to the direction of any possible permeation from the tank joint part. The tank joint part ensures a low fuel permeability and a high bonding strength.

A quick connector including: (a) a tubular male element having an introduced end portion which has an extreme end portion and an annular protrusion portion; and (b) a tubular female element having a first receiving portion and a second receiving portion which have respective tubular shapes configured to receive therein the annular protrusion portion and the extreme end portion of the introduced end portion of the tubular male element, respectively. The first receiving portion has an elastically-deformable tongue portion which is defined by a U-shaped slot formed through the cylindrical wall of the first receiving portion. The tongue portion extends in a circumferential direction of the tubular female element, and has a free end portion which is displaceable in a radial direction of the tubular female member. An engaging protrusion portion is provided in the free end portion so as to protrude inwardly in the radial direction so as to be brought into engagement with the annular protrusion portion of the introduced end portion of the tubular male element in a snap action manner. The engaging protrusion portion preferably has a tapered guide surface in its inner surface.

Quick connector

A heat resistance resin based engaging and holding member for a connector is stopped at a female member of a connector, and is engaged with a male member housed at one end of the female member to connect the male member to the female member This engaging and holding member consists of a heat resistance resin having 10% or more in elongation; 4000 MPa or less in Young's modulus in flexure; 80&deg; C. or more in glass transition temperature; and 100&deg; C. or more in heat distortion temperature under a load of 1.85 MPa.

A hose of low fuel permeability has a fuel permeability in a bent state with R50 not more than three times a fuel permeability in a straight state, R50 being a bent state where the hose has its longitudinal axis bent to form an arc having a diameter of 100 mm. Its low fuel permeability is achieved if the resin forming its inner wall layer has a melt viscosity falling within a certain range, which can be obtained by, for example, increasing the degree of polymerization of the resin, or grafting a specific side chain to the main chain in each molecule of the resin, or if the resin has a volume swelling degree falling within a certain range, which can be obtained by copolymerizing a monomer having fuel resistance, or blending a polymer having fuel resistance. The hose maintains its low fuel permeability even if it may be subjected to a large load of bending stress as when it is used to form a fluid conveying line.

A connection member includes a nipple portion formed at one end and a first end face portion formed at an end part of the nipple portion. A valve cap includes a small-diameter portion; a large-diameter portion; a valve seat portion having a valve seal surface formed on an inner circumferential surface of the valve cap and located between the small-diameter portion and the large-diameter portion; and a fitting end portion fitted to the outer circumferential surface of the end part of the nipple portion. A valve body includes a bottom portion having an abutment part to abut the valve seal surface; a cylindrical open end portion extending from the bottom portion; a second end face portion formed at the open end portion in such a manner as to face the first end face portion; a first sliding portion provided on the open end portion; and a first flow path portion provided in the first sliding portion. The valve body is accommodated within the large-diameter portion in an axially slidable condition. A compression spring is disposed between the first end face portion and the second end face portion and adapted to bias the valve body toward the valve seat portion of the valve cap. One end portion of a flexible tube is fitted to the outer circumferential surface of the valve cap and the outer circumferential surface of the nipple portion.

Connection structure and valved connection member

A corrugated or convoluted laminated tube has a wall formed by an outer resin layer formed from e.g. nylon and a thin inner layer of a THV terpolymer bonded to its inner surface. It is high in flexibility, etc., has a low fuel permeability and is not deformed by swelling with fuel.

A female member for use with a male member of a quick connector assembly, including a first tubular portion which has a first axial bore having a first diameter, a second tubular portion which is coaxial with the first tubular portion and which has a second axial bore which has a second diameter greater than the first diameter of the first axial bore, which is adapted to hold one or more annular seal members and which cooperates with the first axial bore to receive an end portion of the male member, and a connecting portion which connects between the first and second tubular portions and which has an annular recess which opens in the second axial bore, which is located radially outwardly of the first axial bore and which prevents the annular seal member or members from being moved from the second axial bore into the first axial bore when the end portion of the male member is inserted into the female member.

A quick connector assembly includes a male member, a female member, and a retainer. The retainer is interposed between a ring-shaped projection of the male member and a first engagement portion of the female member to connect the male member and female member. When a worker holds operation end portions of the retainer with his or her fingers, the retainer is reduced diametrically so that a second engagement portion of the retainer disengages from the first engagement portion of the female member. Accordingly, the male member and retainer can be pulled off from the female member easily. The retainer holds the male member by fitting its aperture windows with the ring-shaped projection of the male member. Consequently, the retainer hardly falls down from the male member after it is removed from the female member. The male member can be removed sidewise through a substantially-letter-C-shaped opening of the retainer while diametrically enlarging a cross-sectionally substantially-letter-C-shaped body of the retainer. Thus, the retainer is deformed so less that it can be reused repeatedly a number of times.

Quick connector assembly

A hose with a sticking layer, whose end is connected to an inserting section of a cylindrical member and which is provided with a resin hose main body composed of a resin layer having a monolayered structure or a multilayered structure and with a sticking layer mainly containing rubber or resin applied to at least an inner circumference of one end or both ends of the resin hose main body, and its connecting structure are provided.

A connector includes a tube-shaped male member, a female member, an engagement member, and a checking member. The male member has a ring-shaped convexity. The female member has a substantially cylinder-shaped housing. The housing has a pair of widows having a peripheral end and a peripheral edge. The checking member has a letter C-shaped portion, and a pair of engagement convexities. The engagement convexities has a first engaging portion, a leading-end contacting portion, and an inclined second engaging portion. The first engaging portion engages with the peripheral end of the windows of the housing so as to inhibit the checking member from coming off from the housing in a direction perpendicular to an axial direction before the male member is connected with the female member. The leading-end contacting portion is pressed by the ring-shaped convexity to move outwardly in a radial direction so as to diametrically enlarge the letter C-shaped portion when the fitting of the male member is completed. The inclined second engaging portion engages with the peripheral edge of the windows of the housing so as to inhibit the checking member from coming off from the housing in a direction perpendicular to an axial direction by an elastic restoring force of the letter C-shaped portion when the fitting of the male member is completed.

Connector

A refrigerant transporting hose having an inner tube including an inner and an outer rubber layer and an intermediate resin layer interposed between the inner and outer rubber layers; an outer tube formed of a rubber material located radially outwardly of the inner tube; and a reinforcing fiber layer interposed between the inner and outer tubes, such that the reinforcing fiber layer and the inner and outer tubes constitute an integral tubular body. The inner tube further includes a first adhesive layer for bonding the inner rubber layer and the intermediate resin layer to each other, and a second adhesive layer for bonding the intermediate resin layer and the outer rubber layer to each other. The first and second adhesive layers consist essentially of at least one elastomer, and at least one resin selected from the group consisting of phenolic resin and epoxy resin.
