A recording medium includes a magnetic material and a pulp-fiber, a minimum value of shortest distances between the magnetic material and an edge of the recording medium substantially parallel to the pulp-fiber orientation direction being about 1 mm or more.

Recording medium and sheet

A recording paper contains a pulp fiber and a magnetic fiber having a large Barkhausen effect. The fiber orientation ratio of this recording paper by an ultrasonic propagation velocity method is in a range of more than 1.3 to less than 1.8, and the degree of shrinkage in an MD thereof is 0.25% or less.

Recording paper

An electrophotographic transfer paper has a substrate and a thermoplastic foamed resin layer which is provided on at least one surface of the substrate and has pores. In the electrophotographic transfer paper, the temperature at which the viscosity of the thermoplastic foamed resin layer becomes 1&#xd7;10Pa&#xb7;s ranges from 60&#xb0; C. to 100&#xb0; C. and a gradient R of a viscosity-temperature curve of the thermoplastic foamed resin layer defined by the following Equation (1) ranges from 0.02 to 0.10:={Log(&#x3b7;)&#x2212;Log(&#x3b7;)}/20 &#x2003;&#x2003;(1)where &#x3b7;indicates 1&#xd7;10Pa&#xb7;s and &#x3b7;indicates the viscosity (Pa&#xb7;s) of the thermoplastic foamed resin layer at the temperature higher by 20&#xb0; C. than the temperature showing the viscosity &#x3b7;.

Electrophotographic transfer paper

A coated paper comprised of a paper substrate, at least one surface of which is provided with at least one coating layer, characterized in that the surface of said coating layer has cracks of a width of 0.2 to 3.0 &#x3bc;m and a length of 3 to 1000 &#x3bc;m in an amount of 1 to 1000 cracks per mmis provided. In another embodiment, a coated paper comprised of a paper substrate, at least one surface of which is provided with at least two coating layers, characterized in that an inner coating layer adjoining said paper substrate comprises a pigment having a crystal structure selected from the group consisting of acicular crystal, spindle-shape crystal, columnar crystal, and rice-shape granulated crystal, and starches, and an outermost coating layer formed on said inner coating layer comprises crack formation promoting particles and a styrene-butadiene copolymer having a glass transition temperature of 20 to 150&#xb0; C. is provided.

Coated paper

A coated paper sheet having a coating layer formed on one or two surfaces of a substrate paper sheet and containing a pigment and a binder, wherein the pigment includes kaolin particles having an average particle size of 0.3 to 1.5 &#x3bc;m and an aspect ratio L/W (L: major axis, W: minor axis of the particles) in the range of 5 to 50; the binder contains (a) a copolymer having a glass transition temperature Tg of 10 to 60&#xb0; C. and a single phase structure and/or a synthetic polymeric compound having a core-shell composite structure; the coating layer surfaces have a 75 degree specular glossiness of 50% or more; and the air permeability of the coated paper sheet is 7000 seconds or less, is useful as printing sheet especially for gravure printing.

Coated paper sheet

An electrophotographic transfer sheet having a coating layer on at least one surface of a base material made of pulp fibers as a main body is provided. The elongation of the sheet in the cross direction when the humidity is changed from 25% RH to 90% RH at 20&deg; C. is not higher than about 0.65% and the water content of the sheet at opening its package as measured according to JIS P8127 is approximately in the range from 3.5 to 6.5%. A method of forming a color image using color toners each containing a polyester binder resin having Mn in the range of from about 1,000 to 9,000 and using the above-described electrophotographic transfer sheet is also provided.

Electrophotographic transfer sheet and color image forming process

An electrophotographic transfer sheet having a coating layer on at least one surface base material made of pulp fibers as a main body provided. The elongation of the sheet in the cross direction when the humidity is changed from 25% RN to 90% RH at 20&deg; C. is not higher than about 0.65% and the water content of the sheet at opening its package as measured according to JIS P8127 is approximately in the range from 3.5 to 6.5%. A method of forming a color image using color toners each containing a polyester resin having Mn in the range of from about 1,000 to 9,000 and using the above-described electrophotographic transfer sheet is also provided.

Provided is transfer paper for electrophotography having high glossiness and high surface smoothness, which is not troubled by paper blistering and toner blistering and is waved or curled little. The transfer paper is constructed by a substrate of which the both surfaces are coated with a coating layer consisting essentially of a pigment and an adhesive, and this has a characteristic in that the permeation flow rate of air (heated at 180&deg; C. and pressurized to have a pressure of 2 kg/cm,) through it is larger than 200 ml/min, or is characterized in that the air permeation flow rate through it is larger than 200 ml/min and not more than 900 ml/min and its internal bonding strength is at least 0.38 N&middot;m.

Transfer paper for electrophotography

Electrophotographic transfer sheet and method for forming color image

The present invention provides a receiving paper for melt-type heat transfer recording suitable for use in, for example, a copying machine, a printer and a fascimile machine employing heat transfer recording system using heat meltable ink, which paper is excellent in ink receptivity and dot reproducibility and high in performance and quality in recorded image. The receiving paper of the present invention for melt-type heat transfer recording comprises a base paper and an image receiving layer thereon, the receiving layer containing a binder and a pigment and receiving a heat-meltable ink, wherein the receiving layer contains spherical precipitated calcium carbonate having an average particle diameter of 0.5 to 10 .mu.m as a pigment, and wherein the surface of the receiving layer has a surface roughness (Rmax) of 0 to 15 .mu.m as measured according to JIS K 0601, a pore open area ratio of 30 to 85% and an average pore open area of 0.5 to 20.0 .mu.m.sup.2.
