An impact detecting device includes a first impact detecting portion, a determining portion and an informing portion. The first impact detecting portion detects an impact applied to an object equipped to a vehicle. The determining portion determines that the object has received the impact when a detection result of the first impact detecting portion is greater than a first impact determination threshold. The informing portion informs that the object has received the impact, when the determining portion determines that the object has received the impact.

Impact detecting device

A mobile body capable of improving the accuracy of collision judgment. The mobile body including a fuel cell system has a first sensor which detects a physical quantity concerning the moving state of the mobile body, a second sensor which detects a physical quantity concerning the operation state of the fuel cell system, and a judgment section which receives detection signals from the first and second sensors to judge the presence of the collision of the mobile body based on the two detection signals. The judgment section can change a threshold value to be compared with the detected value of the first sensor in accordance with the detected value of the second sensor, to judge the presence of the collision of the mobile body. The first sensor can be constituted of an acceleration sensor, and the second sensor can be constituted of a gas pressure sensor or the like.

Fuel cell safety system for vehicles

A process of disassembling a fuel cellsupplies a fluid to both a fuel gas conduitand an oxidizing gas conduit. Since outlets of the respective gas conduitsandare shielded, the internal pressure or in-passage pressure of the respective gas conduitsandgradually rises and eventually exceeds a specific in-passage pressure level for power generation of the fuel cell. The high in-passage pressure expands a gas diffusion electrodeof a membrane electrode assembly (MEA)and a separator, which define the fuel gas conduit, in opposite directions to make a clearance between the gas diffusion electrodeand the separator. Similarly the high in-passage pressure expands a gas diffusion electrodeof the MEAand a separator, which define the oxidizing gas conduit, in opposite directions to make a clearance between the gas diffusion electrodeand the separator. The supplied fluid then flows out through these clearances into seals between the separatorsandand the MEA. These flows raise the in-passage pressure and release the seals.

Respective heatersthroughreceive power supply and start heating. The heatersthroughkeep heating sealing layersto or over a softening temperature at which the sealing layersare softened or molten. After the sealing layersare softened or molten to weaken the adhesive force between a pair of separatorsand, the heatersthroughare detached from a fuel cell. The worker then completely separates the pair of separatorsandfrom each other with some tool or by hand and removes an MEAfrom the fuel cell
