An automobile-motor driving device equipped with speed reducer which has improved supply of lubrication oil to inside of the rolling bearings without sacrificing the function of the bearings, to reduce deformation in the rolling bearing outer ring. A parallel shaft gear speed reducer provides an automobile-motor driving device equipped with speed reducer. The parallel shaft gear speed reducer includes a plurality of gear shafts having two ends supported via rolling bearings fitted into bearing fitting holes in a speed reducer casing which houses the parallel shaft gear speed reducer. A groove in an inner circumferential surface of the bearing fitting hole into which the rolling bearing is fitted communicates between a space that houses the speed reducer and an inside space of the bearing fitting hole, at a location not crossed by the line of action of a load acting upon the rolling bearing due to the meshing of the gears.

Motor drive device for automobile and equipped with speed reducer

An in-wheel motor drive device includes an electric motor to drive a wheel, a wheel support bearing assembly to support the wheel, and a speed reducer to reduce the rotation of the electric motor and then to transmit it to the wheel support bearing assembly, and a lubricant oil is supplied under pressure by an oil pump to the speed reducer to be lubricated. The use is made of a temperature detector to detect the temperature of the lubricant oil or the electric motor and an output limitter to limit the output of the electric motor in the event that the temperature detected by the temperature detector is not higher than a predetermined threshold value.

In-wheel motor drive device

Helical gears in gear trains of speed reducers generate thrust forces in directions not to separate a speed reducer casing which has an axial three-piece structure, whereby leakage of lubricant oil from between separated surfaces in the speed reducer casing is prevented. Output gear which generates large thrust force on the final stage in each gear train of the speed reducers both generated inward forces, so that the center casing does not receive forces in directions in which the left and the right casings is separated therefrom.

In-wheel motor drive assembly

An electric vehicle is provided in which left and right drive wheels are driven by respective motors, and which enables slip control in a simple structure while preventing a driver who used to drive an engine vehicle with a differential from feeling uncomfortable. The vehicle includes a controller having a computer controlling the two motors including a basic control unit, a slip determiner, and a dual-wheel-drive-reduction unit. The control unit determines driving forces of the motors such that the forces are equal to each other, depending on a depression of an accelerator pedal. The determiner detects slippage between each of the wheels, and a road surface. The dual-wheel-drive-reduction unit reduces, when the determiner determines that greater slippage has occurred at at least one of the wheels, drive currents of the motors.

An object of the present invention is to achieve improvements in the rotational accuracy of the input shaft and the durability of the bearings, and suppression of rotational noise, by improving the support structure of the input shaft of the speed reduction unit. An object of the present invention is to maintain a predetermined positional relationship between an outer pin holder and a housing in a speed reducer section B, to prevent damage to such components as revolving members, outer circumferential engagers, and motion conversion mechanism upon a large axial load due to turning or sudden acceleration/deceleration, and to eliminate rattling noise caused by a housing and the outer pin holder. An elastic member is disposed on one or both axial end surfaces of the outer pin holder, between the outer pin holder and the housing. As a result, even if there is an axial load exerted on the outer pin holder, the outer pin holder is always held at a predetermined position by restoring force from the elastic member(s), in a proper positional relationship with the housing.

A bearing lubricant oil hole supplies oil to a surface in rolling contact with a rolling body. The lubricant oil hole is arranged in a non-load range, where a load applied from the output shaft and the outer circumference engagement member to the revolution members is not shared.
