A cable that protects an object includes a sheath and a cylindrical reinforcement member disposed inside the sheath and that surrounds the object. The cylindrical reinforcement member has a first side edge and a second side edge that extend in a longitudinal direction. The cylindrical reinforcement member is formed of a cable reinforcement sheet including a first metal sheet and a second metal sheet joined to the first metal sheet. A portion of the first metal sheet overlaps a portion of the second metal sheet, and the overlapping portions define a joint portion where the first metal sheet and the second metal sheet are joined. The joint portion is inclined, from the second side edge to the first side edge, toward the first metal sheet.

An optical fiber cable includes: a core including optical fibers; a reinforcing wrap that surrounds the core; and a sheath that accommodates the core and the reinforcing wrap. The reinforcing wrap includes an overlapping portion. A first end portion of the reinforcing wrap overlaps a second end portion of the reinforcing wrap at a portion of the reinforcing wrap in a circumferential direction of the optical fiber cable in a cross-sectional view.

The cylindrical reinforcement member is formed of a cable reinforcement sheet including: a first metal sheet; and a second metal sheet joined to the first metal sheet. A portion of the first metal sheet overlaps a portion of the second metal sheet, and the overlapping portions define a joint portion where the first metal sheet and the second metal sheet are joined. The joint portion is inclined, from the second side edge to the first side edge, toward the first metal sheet.

An optical fiber cable production method includes: feeding a core including optical fibers; winding a reinforcing wrap around the core and forming an overlapping portion in which end portions of the reinforcing wrap overlap each other at a portion of the reinforcing wrap in a circumferential direction; and performing extrusion molding of a sheath on an outside of the reinforcing wrap. The overlapping portion extends in a longitudinal direction of the optical fibers. In the performing extrusion molding, a resin that forms the sheath is inserted into a portion of the overlapping portion.

A reticulated tube includes: a plurality of openings that are reticulately formed; peripheral parts that form the openings; and a branch part that is formed in a boundary of three or more openings. The branch part includes three or more peripheral parts extending from the branch part. The reticulated tube is configured to accommodate a plurality of optical fibers inserted through the reticulated tube. The peripheral parts are restricted by the branch part and are bendable.

An optical fiber cable includes: a first aggregate layer including first optical fiber units that are helically twisted together in a first direction without strand-back. An optical fiber ribbon is formed by connecting a plurality of optical fiber colored core wires to each other with a connector formed of a UV curable resin. Each of the optical fiber colored core wires includes: a bare optical fiber; a primary layer that comprises a UV curable resin that covers the bare optical fiber; a secondary layer that comprises a UV curable resin that covers the primary layer; and a colored layer disposed outside the secondary layer and that comprises a colored UV curable resin. The primary layer has a Young's modulus that is greater than or equal to 70% of a saturated Young's modulus of the primary layer.

An optical fiber unit includes: a plurality of optical fibers; and at least two binding materials that bind the plurality of optical fibers. The two binding materials are wound around the plurality of optical fibers in an SZ shape and adhered to each other at reversed portions of the SZ shape to form an adhesive part. An optical fiber cable is provided. The cable includes: an optical fiber core having a central axis; a presser winding covering the optical fiber core; a sheath covering the presser winding; two tension members in the sheath and facing each other with the central axis therebetween; and two rip cords facing each other with the central axis therebetween and being in direct contact with the sheath and the presser winding. The optical fiber core includes a plurality of optical fiber tapes arranged around the central axis and having mutually different stripe ring marks applied thereon. Each optical fiber tapes includes a plurality of optical fibers intermittently adhered to each other.
