A belt-type continuously variable transmission capable of continuously changing a speed reduction ratio of a driven pulley to a drive pulley, has a speed reduction ratio regulation mechanism that regulates a minimum speed reduction ratio of the driven pulley to the drive pulley. The driven pulley includes a fixed sheave, a movable sheave displaceable in an axial direction with respect to the fixed sheave, and a coil spring that urges the movable sheave toward the fixed sheave. The speed reduction ratio regulation mechanism has a swing arm that adjusts an allowable range in which moving away in an axial direction of the movable sheave with respect to the fixed sheave is possible, and a regulation drive section that drives the swing distal end portion of the swing arm to swing continuously.

Belt-type continuously variable transmission for working machine

A control system for a variable displacement pump driven by a drive source for driving a vehicle is provided. The variable displacement pump pressurizes hydraulic oil, and is switchable between a full capacity operation in which a discharge flow rate is maximized and a partial capacity operation in which the discharge flow rate is lower than that in the full capacity operation. It is determined whether an operation for starting the drive source has been performed. A rotational speed of the drive source and a temperature of the hydraulic oil are detected. When the rotational speed of the drive source is equal to or higher than a predetermined rotational speed and the hydraulic oil temperature is equal to or lower than a predetermined temperature, immediately after the operation for starting the drive source is performed, the partial capacity operation of the variable displacement pump is performed. This control suppresses generation of untoward noises caused by the operation of the variable displacement pump when starting to drive the vehicle.

Control system for variable displacement pump

An outboard engine unit, where a drive shaft is connected to an engine and rotatably supported in a drive shaft chamber via a bearing and where a gear mechanism for transmitting rotation of the drive shaft to a propeller shaft is accommodated in a gear chamber, includes: a lubricant circulation section for returning lubricant oil, having lubricated the bearing, back to the gear chamber; an oil storage chamber for receiving the lubricant oil having lubricated the bearing; and a return passage communicating the oil storage chamber with the gear chamber. The lubricant oil guided to the oil storage chamber is returned back to the gear chamber via the return passage.

Outboard engine unit

A failure detecting apparatus for a hydraulic circuit of a gearbox includes an operating-state detector. The operating-state detector is configured to detect an operating state of a subject to be controlled with a control-signal pressure output from a solenoid valve. A current setting device is configured to set an electrical current supplied to a solenoid so as to close an output oil passage when a modulator valve is normal and to open the output oil passage when an open failure occurs in the modulator valve, while the solenoid valve is conductive. A failure determining device is configured to detect a failure of the modulator valve when the operating state of the subject to be detected by the operating-state detector is abnormal after a value of the electrical current to be supplied to the solenoid is set at the current setting device.

Failure detecting apparatus for hydraulic circuit of gearbox

A transmission has a movable transmission part movably connected to a fixed transmission part via a shaft to undergo pivotal movement relative to the fixed transmission part about an axis of the shaft. Each of the transmission parts has a hollow cylindrical connecting portion through which the shaft extends. One of the connecting portion of the movable transmission part and the connecting portion of the fixed transmission part is received in the other of the connecting portions with a single seal member disposed therebetween so that an internal space of the fixed transmission part and an internal space of the movable transmission part communicate with each other to thereby form a single hermetically-sealed space for holding therein a lubricating oil.

Transmission

A walk-behind work machine in which vibration produced by the driving of an engine is not readily transmitted to an operating handle. The work machine includes a work-machine body having a plurality of mounting parts to which an engine is joined. The mounting parts include a high-rigidity mounting part positioned at a maximally rigid part on the work-machine body, and other mounting parts exclusive of the high-rigidity mounting part. The engine is joined securely to the other mounting parts and is joined more loosely to the high-rigidity mounting part than to the other mounting parts.

Walk behind work machine having an engine mounting structure

A power transmission device is capable of switching the rotation direction of a drive shaft between positive rotation and negative rotation as power is transmitted to the drive shaft from a drive source via the power transmission device. To cause positive rotation of the drive shaft, only the positive rotation belt is tensed by the belt switching means, and rotation from the positive rotation drive pulley is transmitted to the drive shaft via the positive rotation shaft. To cause negative rotation of the drive shaft, only the negative rotation belt is tensed by the belt switching means, and rotation from the negative rotation drive pulley is transmitted to the drive shaft via the negative rotation shaft.

Power transmission device

A hydraulic controller of a power transmission device is equipped with a transmission for changing a rotation speed of motor power input from a motor and outputting the motor power; a forward/backward change-over mechanism provided between an input shaft, where the motor power of the motor is input and the transmission; and a torque converter having a direct coupling mechanism for transmitting the motor power between an output shaft and the input shaft of the motor; a solenoid valve for adjusting an original pressure and generating a control pressure; and a change-over element for changing over a hydraulic pressure supplied to the forward/backward change-over mechanism so as to become a low pressure during deceleration driving when the direct coupling mechanism is controlled by the solenoid valve, wherein any one of engagement states of the forward/backward change-over mechanism and the direct coupling mechanism is controlled by the control pressure.

Hydraulic controller of power transmission device

A power transmission mechanism for transmitting a driving force from a drive shaft to a driven member of a gear via a one-way clutch is provided. The one-way clutch includes a swinging clutch portion swingably fitted in a clutch portion housing groove formed in a first end portion of the drive shaft. The swinging clutch portion has a cylindrical portion as the axis of rotation and a projecting portion. When the drive shaft rotates, the projecting portion of the swinging clutch portion is raised by a slit of a collar fitted onto the drive shaft, engaging one of a plurality of engaging grooves formed in the inner peripheral surface of the driven member. When the drive shaft does not rotate, the swinging clutch portion lies down, and the projecting portion does not engage any engaging groove, allowing the driven member to rotate bidirectionally relative to the drive shaft.

Power transmission mechanism

A walk-behind working machine has a drive source, wheels rotationally driven by the drive source, and a traveling clutch for transmitting driving power from the drive source to the wheels. A driving member is disposed in the case and has a first friction surface. A driven member is mounted in the case for undergoing rotation relative to the driving member and has a second friction surface positioned to be brought into surface contact with the first friction surface at a preselected surface pressure. A characteristic curve of the traveling clutch plotted in a coordinate system including a vertical axis representing a coefficient of friction between the first and second friction surfaces and a horizontal axis representing a parameter obtained by dividing by the preselected surface pressure a product of a viscosity of the lubricating oil and a number of times the driven member rotates relative to the driving member per second has a first straight line and a second straight line connected to the first straight line via a bent point. The preselected surface pressure is determined so that the bent point corresponds to a switch point when the working machine is switched from a first state in which the walk-behind working machine operates at a high load to a second state in which the walk-behind working machine operates at a low load.

Walk-behind working machine

A working machine has an operation switching lever mounted on a handle in the vicinity of a handle grip and is arranged to be manipulated by one of the hands of the operator to transmit or interrupt a driving force outputted from the drive source to the working tool. A drive switching lever is mounted on the handle and is arranged to be manipulated by one of the hands of the operator to operate a continuously variable transmission to switch driving wheels from a halt condition to a high-speed advancement condition. A disc is mounted on the handle for undergoing rotational movement relative to the drive switching lever. A control member positions the disc at a preselected angular position relative to the drive switching lever to regulate an amount of pivotal movement of the drive switching lever for adjusting a rotational speed of the driving wheels.

Walk-behind, self-propelled working machine

A walk behind working machine has a frame having a forward end portion and a rear end portion, a prime mover mounted on the frame, a pair of drive wheels mounted on the frame for undergoing rotation, and a power transmission mechanism for transmitting rotational power from the prime mover to the drive wheels. A running clutch is adapted to be placed in an engaged state in which rotational power is transmitted to the drive wheels and in a disengaged state in which rotational power is not transmitted to the drive wheels. A pair of operating handles extend from the rear end portion of the frame. A single grip/clutch lever serves as a grip handle for being gripped by an operator to maneuver the working machine and as a clutch lever manually operable to selectively place the running clutch in the engaged state and the disengaged state. The grip/clutch lever is pivotally mounted on distal end portions of the operating handles to undergo pivotal movement in forward and rearward directions of the frame between a rearward stop position having a first forward tilt and in which the running clutch is in the disengaged state and a forward operating position having a second forward position greater than the first forward position and in which the running clutch is in the engaged state.

Walk behind working machine

A power transmission system for use in a snow-removing machine has a drive shaft having a first end for supporting a snow blower having a forward end and a rearward end. The drive shaft has second end disposed opposite the first end and for extension from the forward end of the snow blower. An auger transmission is connected to the second end of the drive shaft and has an auger shaft for undergoing rotation in accordance with rotation of the drive shaft. An auger is mounted on the auger shaft for rotation therewith. An overload protecting mechanism is disposed between the snow blower and the auger transmission for preventing application of a power overload between the drive shaft and the auger.

Power transmission system for snow-removing machine

An overload protecting device assembled in an auger transmission is disclosed as including a worm wheel having its side wall formed with a plurality of wheel-side protruding segments, a boss member engaging with the wheel and fixedly coupled to an auger shaft for non-rotating relationship, and a slide washer having a plurality of wheel-side projections facing the wheel-side protruding segments. When the auger shaft encounters a torque exceeding a given value, the worm wheel and the boss member are enabled to rotate relative to one another. As the wheel-side projections ride on the protruding segments, the slide washer is moved in a direction opposed to the worm wheel. A washer detection switch detects such a movement to produce a detection signal to forcibly stop the operation of an engine.

Overload protecting device for snow removing machine

A tiller for cultivating soil has a power source and a tilling shaft mounted for undergoing rotation by a driving force supplied from the power source. The tilling shaft has a hollow outer shaft and an inner shaft extending through the outer shaft. The inner shaft has a variable rotating speed and/or direction of rotation relative to the outer shaft. A power transmission mechanism transmits a driving force from the power source to the tilling shaft. The power transmission mechanism has a first power transmission system for transmitting the driving force from the power source to the outer shaft and a second power transmission system transmitting the driving force from the power source to the inner shaft. The second power transmission system has a hydrostatic transmission comprised of a hydraulic pump and a hydraulic motor for effecting a stepless change of the rotating speed of the inner shaft as well as a selective change of its direction of rotation. Tilling claws are disposed on the tilling shaft for tilling soil.
