An electric fan is provided, including a labyrinth structure with increased performance of preventing entry of a liquid into a receiving space to receive a stator and a rotor. A clearance is defined between an opposed wall portion of a base and an opposed wall portion of an impeller body, which are opposed to each other in an axial direction of a rotary shaft, to form a labyrinth structure. The opposed wall portion of the base and the opposed wall portions of the impeller body are shaped to form a volume expanding portion within the clearance. The volume expanding portion is constituted from a groove portion for expanding the clearance, having a volume larger than other portions within the clearance.

Heat sink

Vibration applied to a rotary shaft in an axial direction is suppressed when the rotary shaft is supported by a single hearing. A width dimension in a direction parallel with an axial direction of rotor-side magnetic poles of a permanent magnet unit is set to be larger than a width dimension in the direction parallel with the axial direction of stator-side magnetic poles. The rotor-side magnetic poles are fixed to a peripheral wall portion of a cup member such that the rotor-side magnetic poles completely face the stator-side magnetic poles and project toward a front side further than an end face of the stator-side magnetic poles on a motor support side. By using thrust formed of magnetic attracting force generated by decentering a magnetic center of the rotor-side magnetic poles and a magnetic center of the stator-side magnetic poles, the vibration of the rotary shaft in the axial direction is suppressed.

Single-bearing permanent-magnet motor

A heat sink for an electronic component cooling apparatus being small in size and having reduced weight, being capable of coping with increasing amounts of heat generation from the electronic component and capable of performing high cooling efficiency. A plurality of radiation fins 3 surrounding an impeller of a fan are mounted on a side of a base 2 of a heat sink 1. A heat conductive thick portion comprising linear ribs 4 and an annular rib 5 is formed on the base 2 where it is surrounded by the radiation fins 3. The linear ribs 4 and the annular rib 5, having more thickness than the radiation fin mounting area 6, are formed of a pattern that can reduce the resistance of heat transfer between a heat source opposed-portion 7, which opposes to the heat source of the electronic component and the radiation fin mounting area 6.
