A driving device includes a wearable mechanism that is worn on a wearing part, an actuator that drives the wearable mechanism, and first and second force sensors that are provided on the wearable mechanism and detect a force. The first and second force sensors are provided at positions at which a first detected value obtained from the first force sensor and a second detected value obtained from the second force sensor are changed in response to a motion of the wearing part. When a difference between the first and second detected values is less than a pre-decided first threshold value and the first or second detected value is greater than a pre-decided second threshold value, the actuator drives the wearable mechanism so that the second detected value is constant.

Driving device and driving method

A finger joint driving device includes a first base portion that is mounted on an index finger, a pressure sensor that is provided between the first base portion and the index finger when the first base portion is mounted on the index finger, and a contact portion that is provided between the pressure sensor and the index finger and comes in contact with the pressure sensor in the mounted state. In addition, durometer hardness of the contact portion which is measured based on JIS K 6253 is equal to or greater than 50.

Finger joint driving device

A detection device includes a first substrate that has a plurality of pressure sensors disposed around a reference point, and a second substrate on which disposed an elastic projection whose center is positioned in a position overlapping with the reference point and that elastically deforms due to the external force in a state in which the tip portion of the elastic projection makes contact with the first substrate. When an external force has been applied, the direction and intensity of the applied external force is found by carrying out a predetermined calculation using pressure values detected by the pressure sensors.

A force detector includes a plate-like first member, a plate-like second member provided with a gap between the first member and itself, an elastic member provided between the first member and the second member, and a plurality of pressure-sensitive devices provided between the elastic member and the second member, wherein an area of a surface of the elastic member at the first member side is larger than an area of a surface of the elastic member at the second member side. Further, the first member and the second member respectively have plate-like shapes. Furthermore, three or more of the elastic members are provided.

Force detector and robot

A first substrate that includes pressure sensors which are disposed in plural around a reference point; an approximately hemispherical elastic protrusion that is positioned so that the center of the elastic protrusion is approximately disposed in a position which is overlapped with the reference point, and is elastically deformed by an external force; and a second substrate that is separated from the elastic protrusion and installed on a side which is opposite to the first substrate are provided. When the external force is applied, a predetermined calculation is performed by using a pressure value which is detected through each pressure sensor, and the direction and the intensity of the applied external force are obtained.

A detection unit includes a sensor that detects the presence of force and a force component separation mechanism that separates the magnitude and the direction of the force and a control unit that controls the detection action of the force component separation mechanism based on the detection result of the sensor.

A detection device includes: a detecting unit having a first substrate on which a plurality of pressure sensors are disposed around a reference point and a second substrate on which is formed an elastic projection whose center of gravity is positioned in a position overlapping with the reference point and that elastically deforms due to an external force in a state in which the tip of the elastic projection makes contact with the first substrate; and a controller that carries out detection operations for detecting the presence/absence of the external force based on pressure values detected by at least one of the plurality of pressure sensors, and controls the next detection operations of the detection unit based on the result of the previous detection.

Disclosed is a detection device for detecting a strength and a direction of an external force applied to a reference point, the detection device including: a first substrate having a plurality of first capacitor electrodes arranged around the reference point; a second substrate arranged to face the first substrate by interposing the first capacitor electrodes; a dielectric body arranged between the first and second substrates and made of an elastic body or fluid; a second capacitor electrode arranged to face the first capacitor electrodes by interposing the dielectric body between the first and second substrates; and a third substrate having an elastic projection which has a gravity center in a location overlapping with the reference point and is elastically deformed by the external force while a tip thereof abuts on the second substrate.

A liquid crystal device includes: a liquid crystal layer which is sandwiched between a pair of substrates; a color filter layer has a first coloration layer for transmitting a first light and a second coloration layer for transmitting a second light; first electrodes has a first pixel electrode disposed on a first sub-pixel region corresponding to a planar region of the first coloration layer and a second pixel electrode disposed on a second sub-pixel region corresponding to a planar region of the second coloration layer; and second electrodes each of which faces each first electrode. Any one electrode of each first electrode and each second electrode has a plurality of band-like portions which are arranged at predetermined intervals. A layer thickness of the liquid crystal layer, a width of each band-like portion, and the predetermined intervals within the first sub-pixel region are smaller than they within the second sub-pixel region.

An LCD having pixels arrayed along a first direction and a second direction crossing the first direction includes: opposite first and second substrates having facing first and second surfaces, respectively; a first light shielding layer formed along the second direction between the pixels adjacent in the first direction on the first surface; a first electrode formed within each pixel on the second surface and having a first electrode portion; a second electrode positioned between the pixels adjacent in the first direction on the second surface to at least partially overlap the first light shielding layer in plan view and having a second electrode portion extending along the first electrode portion; a third electrode having a third electrode portion formed along the first direction between the pixels adjacent in the second direction on the second surface.

A liquid crystal device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, a first alignment layer disposed on the liquid crystal layer side of the first substrate, and a second alignment layer disposed on the liquid crystal layer side of the second substrate. At least one of the first alignment layer and the second alignment layer is made of an inorganic porous film having pores exposed at its surface and grooves to control the orientation of the liquid crystal layer.

Liquid crystal device, method for manufacturing the same, and electronic apparatus including the same

A liquid crystal device includes a first substrate and a second substrate disposed opposite the first substrate. The liquid crystal device further has a first light shielding layer of a surface of the first substrate; a first electrode having an electrode portion extending in a predetermined direction; and a second electrode of the surface of the second substrate facing the first substrate. The second electrode is formed such that at least a part thereof overlaps the first light shielding layer in plan view and has an electrode portion extending in a direction along the electrode portion of the first electrode. The device further has a third electrode of the surface of the second substrate; and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first and second substrates and aligned in an in-plane direction of the first or second substrate.

A liquid crystal device includes a pair of substrates facing each other, and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the pair of substrates. One of the pair of substrates includes data lines and scanning lines that intersect each other, pixels arranged in a matrix, at least one first electrode, and at least one second electrode that applies an electric field generated between the first electrode and the second electrode to the liquid crystal layer. Each of the first electrode and the second electrode includes a plurality of electrode portions, and a joint portion for connecting the plurality of electrodes. At least a portion of the joint portion of the first electrode and at least a portion of the joint portion of the second electrode are arranged so as to overlap at least the data lines or the scanning lines, and are aligned in a line extending along the at least the data lines or the scanning lines.
