An electromechanical lock according to the present invention includes a lock extension and a blocking module having an interior region. A pivot bolt is mounted in the interior region for rotation about a rotation axis between a nominal position and an unsecured position. First and second blockers are also disposed in the interior for movement between their respective nominal positions and an unblocking position. The lock further includes an override disposed in the interior region for movement between a nominal position and an override position. The lock is in a secured condition when the first and second blockers and the override are in their respective nominal positions and an unsecured condition when the second blocker is in its unblocking position.

A high security electromechanical lock has a lock assembly configured to extend or retract a locking member. The lock assembly includes a first microcontroller communicatively coupled to an electronic storage memory. An electronic key input assembly is electrically and mechanically coupled to the lock assembly. The electronic key input assembly includes an electronic dial ring base having a base plate and a communications hub circuit. The base plate has a side wall. The communications hub circuit has a plurality of communications ports arranged around a periphery of the base plate that are accessible through the side wall. The base plate is configured to mechanically removably mount each of the plurality of peripheral electronic devices around the periphery of the side wall of the base plate.

The device is programmed to set a throughput rate for the print engine. A controller reads the device, and operates the print engine at the throughput rate designated by the device.

The invention provides a system and method for detecting the presence of an ink jet printhead when a printhead controller fails to properly identify an installed printhead using a printhead identification device. The system includes a printhead including heater resistors and control elements, and a controller connected to the printhead via address and data lines. When the controller fails to properly identify an installed printhead, the controller operates to bias the control elements in a predetermined manner via at least one address line, detect a signal via the data lines, and generate a signal indicative of the presence of the installed printhead.

A first method obtains a printer having a single-printhead horizontal resolution of H dpi. Dots are printed using first and second printheads in the same print pass. First print data for the first printhead and second print data for the second printhead of H/2 horizontal dpi by V vertical dpi are obtained, are horizontally interlaced creating H horizontal dpi by V vertical dpi, and are printed using the first and second printheads in the same print pass.
