A method () for representing an audio object in an extended reality scene. The method includes obtaining (s) first metadata describing a first three-dimensional (3D) shape associated with the audio object. The method also includes transforming (s) the obtained first metadata to produce transformed metadata describing a two-dimensional (2D) plane or a one-dimensional (1D) line, wherein the 2D plane or the 1D line represent at least a portion of the audio object.

Rendering of audio objects with a complex shape

A method of audio rendering. The method includes receiving an audio element, wherein the audio element comprises: i) an interior representation that is valid within a spatial region, the interior representation of the audio element being in a listener-centric format and ii) information indicating the spatial region. The method further includes determining that a listener is outside the spatial region. The method further includes deriving an exterior representation of the audio element and rendering the audio element using the exterior representation of the audio element. In another aspect, a method of providing a spatially-bounded audio element is provided. The method includes providing, to a rendering node, an audio element. The audio element includes: (i) an interior representation that is valid within a spatial region, the interior representation being in a listener-centric format; and (ii) information indicating the spatial region.

Spatially-bounded audio elements with interior and exterior representations

Operations also include predicting probability of occurrence of a subsequent sound having a defined disturbance characteristic in the at least one microphone signal following the occurrence of the trigger sound. Predict and trigger a future response to a predicted background noise based on a sequence of sounds

An audio signal processing method and apparatus for adaptively adjusting a decorrelator. The method comprises obtaining a control parameter and calculating mean and variation of the control parameter. Ratio of the variation and mean of the control parameter is calculated, and a decorrelation parameter is calculated based on the said ratio. The decorrelation parameter is then provided to a decorrelator.

Method and apparatus for adaptive control of decorrelation filters

In one aspect, there is a method for rendering a spatially-heterogeneous audio element. In some embodiments, the method includes obtaining two or more audio signals representing the spatially-heterogeneous audio element, wherein a combination of the audio signals provides a spatial image of the spatially-heterogeneous audio element. The method also includes obtaining metadata associated with the spatially-heterogeneous audio element, the metadata comprising spatial extent information indicating a spatial extent of the audio element. A method () for spatial audio rendering of an audio element having an extent (). The method includes determining (s) that a listener is within a transition region that is outside of the extent. The method also includes determining (s) a first interior rendering with an interior set of virtual loudspeakers. The method also includes determining (s) an exterior rendering with an exterior set of virtual loudspeakers, wherein the exterior set of virtual loudspeakers comprises first and second virtual loudspeakers. The method also includes, in response to determining that the listener is within the transition region, determining (s) a transition rendering, wherein the transition rendering includes the interior set of virtual loudspeakers with two loudspeakers in the interior set of virtual loudspeakers replaced by third and fourth virtual loudspeakers, the third and fourth virtual loudspeakers being based on the first and second virtual loudspeakers of the exterior set of virtual loudspeakers. The method also includes rendering (s) the transition rendering for the listener.

Seamless rendering of audio elements with both interior and exterior representations

A method performed by a system of a communication network includes obtaining digital representations of speech detected from communication devices connected to a teleconference, and receiving a request for a parallel discussion from a first of the communication devices with a subgroup of the communication devices. Further, the system sets up a parallel discussion group for the first communication device and the subgroup of communication devices, provides the digital representations of speech of the first communication device and the subgroup of communication devices only to the devices of the parallel discussion group so that each device of the parallel discussion group is able to play back the digital representations of speech of the other devices of the parallel discussion group, and provides the digital representations of speech of the plurality of communication devices except the first communication device and the subgroup of communication devices.

Method and system for handling a teleconference

When a control message is determined and sent from a master system to a slave system, the control message is accompanied with a time stamp, indicative of the master model version of the environment which was applied when the control data was determined by the master system. When data, triggered by data provided from the environment to the slave system in the form of updated sensor data is provided from the slave system to the master system, also that data, indicative of an updated slave model version of the environment made by the slave system, is provided to the master system, together with a time stamp, indicative of when the update of the slave model version was made. By applying the suggested time stamp, a coordination of model versions can be obtained between the master system and the slave system.

Method and arrangement for remote control of an environment

There is provided mechanisms for decoding a media stream. A method is performed by a packet receiver. The method comprises receiving packets. The packets have been transmitted by a packet transmitter. The packets define the media stream and each packet comprises encoded media. The method comprises decoding the encoded media into at least a first decoded version and a second decoded version. For the first decoded version only a subset of the packets decoded for the second decoded version are decoded. The subset includes only those of the packets that are received within a first threshold time delay from having been transmitted by the packet transmitter.

Detecting voiced speech in an audio signal. A method comprises calculating an autocorrelation function (ACF) of a portion of an input audio signal and detecting a highest peak of said autocorrelation function within a determined range. A peak width and a peak height of said detected highest peak are determined and based on the peak width and the peak height it is decided whether a segment of an input audio signal comprises voiced speech.
