An apparatus forms a weight for each signal path associated with an antenna of a plurality of antennas around a test zone in an over-the-air chamber by a comparison of a desired target electric field based on a radio channel model and an electric field obtainable by the plane waves associated with the test zone, the plane waves being transmittable by the antennas and being based on at least one basis waveform in each signal path.

Over-the-air test

A testing system comprises a noise source coupled to at least two antenna elements. The noise source forms a total noise power on the basis of a total signal power received by the emulator, a gain of at least one antenna-specific channel between the emulator and the antenna elements, and a desired signal-to-noise ratio. The noise source transmits noise at the total noise power from the at least two antenna elements to the device under test wirelessly.

Over-the air test

The invention provides a device for simulating a multi-antenna radio channel, a module and a method. The device comprises channel modules for incorporating propagation effects into channel signals which represent radio signals propagating along propagation paths, which channel modules are electrically connected to neighbour channel modules for forming an (m,n) array configuration. The (m,n)channel module is configured to receive a first (m,n&#x2212;1)channel signal and a second (m&#x2212;1,n)channel signal and comprises: a processing resource for processing the first (m,n&#x2212;1)channel signal according to a channel model, thus generating a processed (m,n)channel signal, and a combiner for combining the processed (m,n)signal and the second (m&#x2212;1,n)channel signal, thus generating a second (m,n)channel signal. The (m,n)channel module is further configured to output the second (m,n)channel signal.

Simulation of multi-antenna radio channel

The invention relates to a method and device for performing channel simulation, the device comprising a set of channel simulation units (to) for simulating a radio channel, each unit comprising radio frequency parts (A toA) and baseband parts (B toB). In the solution of the invention, the baseband parts of several different units (to) are arranged to simulate the same channel.
