An information terminal incorporates a network interface and an extension interface, and in the case of outside call, an audio send signal is modulated into an audio signal frequency band, and sent to the exchange through a private telephone line and a subscriber's line by way of the network interface. An audio receive signal sent from the exchange through the subscriber's line and private telephone line is demodulated into an ordinary audio frequency band through the network interface. On the other hand, in the case of extension service, an audio send signal is converted into a packetized digital signal by an extension interface circuit, and is further modulated into a higher frequency band so as not to overlap with the audio signal frequency band, and is transmitted through the private telephone line.

Information terminal and information terminal system

An information terminal is arranged by employing an image input apparatus, a voice input apparatus, an information communication apparatus, and a controller for outputting both image information and voice information to the information communication apparatus. The information terminal is operated in such a manner that while an image entered from a camera is synchronized with voice entered from a microphone, these image and voice data is sent out to a network. When the camera is panned, tilted, or moved, the controller ceases a process operation with respect to voice data in response to this camera move signal. As a result, noise which is generated by moving the camera cannot be mixed into transmission data.

In the fiber optic module, the connector is of a surface mounting type, leads of the LD and PD modules are connected to a side of the circuit board mounted with the connector, the circuit board has an LD variable resistor for adjusting a drive current of the LD module, the LD variable resistor is provided to a side of the circuit board opposite to the connector, the circuit board has a PD variable resistor provided to the side of the circuit board opposite to the connector for detecting a signal of the PD module, 3 signal processing semiconductor ICs or less are provided.

The present invention relates to a network connection apparatus for connecting a plurality of network terminals to an external network such as the Internet. In accordance with the present invention, there provides an easy-to-use network connection apparatus capable of building up an easy and flexible network system by providing the user with plurality types of interface. Specifically, the network connection apparatus comprises a first interface unit including at least one physical layer for connecting to an external network, a second interface unit including a plurality of physical layers for connecting to an internal network, and a controller for controlling the first interface unit and the second interface unit, wherein the second interface unit is capable of independent operation from the first interface unit, and the controller transmits and receives information between the first interface unit and second interface unit, and between the second interface units.
